As I've said before, the 1.6 liter coming out of Dundee had better be beefed up for service under American driving conditions. The Punch transmission replaces a Toyota built, Aisin single motor hybrid unit which was used in PSA PHEV models. A GSE-T running on the Miller Cycle is being phased out in favor of the infamous PSA pure-tech three cylinder in all Stellantis brands. That particular version of the GSE engine was used with a 7-speed Magna hybrid transmission. The Punch is used with the PSA engines.

I can't help but wonder if there was supposed to be a Miller Cycle Hurricane six that was cancelled along with the two Miller Cycle four cylinders from different sides of the Atlantic.

Maybe sometime in the future we will learn that a small displacement DOHC V8 actually was under development. I have witnessed GM Wankle rotary engines under operation back in the early 1970s. I remember the story of how there was a last minute termination of the Ball-Stud HEMI. There was a magazine article on that engine which published well after the fact. The same thing happened earlier with the Ram-Air V Pontiac V8.
