Jeep® Gladiator Enters the Shadows with New “Convoy” Campaign

Jeep® Gladiator Enters the Shadows with New “Convoy” Campaign

Quiet Debut. Loud Intent.

Jeep® is doing something a little different with the Gladiator for 2026—and it’s happening without the usual fanfare. Late last night, the brand quietly teased what appears to be the first entry in a new limited-edition Gladiator campaign called Convoy, and true to its name, the debut slipped out under the cover of darkness. The first model is called Shadow Ops, and while Jeep hasn’t issued an official press release yet, the message is clear: the Gladiator is getting its own version of a buzz-model rollout.

Jeep® is expanding the Gladiator lineup in a big way for 2026—but it didn’t start with a flashy reveal. Instead, the rollout unfolded in real time. Early Thursday morning, we talked about Jeep quietly teasing the new Gladiator on social media, offering only shadowy images and vague hints. At that point, official details were limited. By Thursday afternoon, Jeep filled in the blanks with a proper press release, confirming the truck’s identity as the 2026 Jeep Gladiator Rubicon Shadow Ops, the first special-edition model in the brand’s all-new Convoy campaign.

Enough already with referring to Gladiator sales as disappointing or poor.
The Gladiator is not and was not intended to be a volume seller but a ruggedly built off road adventure vehicle, a capable pickup in the Wrangler image and clearly a trail rated pickup for a niche audience. Given that definition it has been a big success and with marketing like this, sales should improve. It is rumored that a Ram Dakota spinoff mid-size Jeep Comanche pickup is in the works, also with niche intentions, that will give Jeep more exposure in the pickup market. It’s tough for any new product with a focused appeal to take time and adjustments to crack the market, especially with buyers looking for traditional pickups that have a wider market to fill.
Think positive guys, the Gladiator is doing everything intended and with another pickup in the mix, Jeep just might be on the radar with more folks that want something different. Let’s cut the negativity, let’s be fair in judging a vehicle in comparison to a well established market that essentially differs in tradition, exposure and purpose.
Enough already.
