Jeep® Avenger Secures U.S. Patent: What It Could Mean?

Stellantis (FCA US, LLC) has officially secured a U.S. design patent for the Jeep® Avenger (JJ), a subcompact SUV that has gained significant traction in Europe. While the patent, filed on February 9, 2023, and granted on March 11, 2025, by the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), does not confirm the Avenger’s arrival in North America, it raises speculation about the brand’s future plans. The design approval could simply be for licensing purposes—covering merchandise, toys, and video game use—but it also fuels discussions about whether Jeep’s smallest SUV could eventually join the North American lineup.

There is an entire off-road culture around the Panda and some Pretty cool off road Renegades…. So we can have off road oriented small jeeps

But wait there's more!😀 The Grande Panda is only the start. This summer there will be the launch of a Giga Panda. (I think it's a code name. The real name remains to be seen.) Rumors have that it will be 4.4 meters long. It's platform mate, the Opel Frontera, has a 105" wheelbase with an overall length of 172". There is also another platform mate which started production in Brazil late last year, the Citroen C3 Aircross. Our market is always the last. Will Stellantis simply cheap out and send over the Avenger or gives us a worthwhile Renegade replacement with a decent power train?

For some points of reference the Jeep Patriot is 173.5" long with a 104" wheelbase and the Jeep Renegade is 166" OL and 101" WB.

From my illustration, the Giant Panda will take very little to make it look like the patent drawing. Front clip, Different door outer stampings, rear light systems. May new quarter panel outer. Ther wheel wells are already hexagon and stamping are ready for bigger wheels. Just different Liners and Trim out.

So to me we are looking at the New 25K jeep. EV and REV please. This is not a class that requires the complexity of pure ICE, and that is dying class anyway.

I assume a bigger Panda is just Fiat Compass.

Please don't bring the Dongfeng to America when already have a suitable Jeep with very little effort on the SMART
