An indirect confirmation, but PHEV Hurricane seems to be coming next:
The end for the eight: "Electrification is the way forward" for Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT as the days of thumping V8s come to a close - Car News
The days of thumping Jeep Hemi V8 engines appear to be drawing to a close, with the brand's executives saying "electrification is the way forward" for even its hardcore SRT models.www.carsguide.com.au
Since it's inevitable that new tech is coming and we can't do anything about it, I'm coming around to the idea of a PHEV pickup truck. My drive to work is 19 miles. The Jeep 4xe would get me from my house to work in the mornings with no gasoline. I'd prefer a pickup truck for my use though, and it would be nice to have 50 miles of range. In that case it's a very viable solution. Still have the traditional ICE to fall back on for longer trips, hauling, towing, etc. That seems to be the best of both worlds. I would like that better than BEV. The full blown EV idea doesn't have the practicality.
Hopefully a PHEV Hurricane will find it's way into a Ram 1500 within the next few years.
