Hopefully Jeep will offer a sport performance Grand Cherokee in the future. I hate the thought of considering the Ford Explorer ST, but might have to.

Even if it’s not the SRT, maybe the return of the High Altitude with an optional Hemi would be a good alternative to an Explorer ST.

I'm actually trying to convince myself to wait a couple of years to see if a 6.4 will ever be offered on the new Grand Cherokee.

You'd get hellcat torque with a 6.4 and the hybrid ZF 8-speed, but I'd just make that the new 6.4 GC. 500hp and 660TQ. Trackhawk will probably be some 1000hp/1000Tq electric beast

The SRT name will not be associated with the next line of Jeep performance vehicles... the Trackhawk name will stay. According to my sources, they were originally working on a new Hellcat-powered Supercharged Trackhawk model, however, they ran into a ton of issues. So instead they are working on PHEV stuff. But you might see an all ICE standard Trackhawk next year.

Inline six + PHEV electric motor on the rear wheels. That's what the next L cars will have as well. Grand Cherokee with this powertrain will arrive after the new L car unveiling in 2023...so 2024 for the Grand Cherokee offering.

Could it be ICE-only Trackhawk in 2023, and then PHEV Trackhawk in 2024??

SRT is just a confusing mess at this point. Bring back PVO (or turn SRT into the street and racing team) and just work on each brand - you could even remove the SRT badge from Dodge and nobody would notice, they're just known as Hellcats, demons, red eyes, scat packs etc now. Trackhawk, TRX - they went from one brand (SRT) to multiple and it's working fine.

The ZF design is a P2 hybrid. From what I can tell the Gen 4 hybrid transmission replaces the torque converter with a clutch pack. The electric motor is behind the clutch pack to enable battery electric power only. Non-hybrids retain the torque converter.
