FIRST DRIVE: 2026 Dodge Charger Daytona Scat Pack 4DR

This One Just Makes Sense…

This past week, Dodge invited me down to eastern Tennessee to drive the all-new 2026 Dodge Charger SIXPACK Scat Pack. That was the main attraction for most people attending the event, but Dodge also brought something that really mattered to me on a personal level — the 2026 Dodge Charger Daytona Scat Pack EV four-door. As the owner of a 2025 Charger Daytona Scat Pack EV two-door, I already know what the electric Charger is capable of. But as a dad with two teenagers and someone who uses my car for everything from family life to filming content, I needed to see for myself whether the four-door Daytona is the smarter version of the modern Charger.

I think the styling of this 4 door looks alright, but on the 2 door model i think the rear roof section (c pillar?) should be about 10 inches forward from where it is, this would give a trunk that’s twice as long than it is now.
But maybe the hatch back design wouldn’t allow it.
But we can’t have everything right, could use dual round headlights as well.
Be nice to see it photo shopped that way.

Thinking that no matter what the drive trains Stellantis puts in this Charger/Challenger it is headed down the path of the Hornet.

I prefer the 2 door coupe look better. It's sportier and will be a stiffer chassis. 550 HP is a lot in a car and the car looks comfortable and fun to drive. I like the hatchback idea as I can get my golf clubs in and out easier. It seems to get good MPG too. I hope this car is a hit and we see it in NASCAR soon.

The car is gorgeous. Inside and out. They nailed it. However, launching it as an EV put it on instant life support, and now offering an ICE that sounds like a 4-cylinder Toyota Corolla with a rusted muffler makes it seem like they are trying to pull the plug on themselves. I just don't get why Stellantis doesn't get it.

You can't sell a "muscle car" that sounds like a weed trimmer, has turbo lag, and weighs as much as a crew cab F-150 4x4.

I do still think this will sell better than the Hornet, and better than the Charger EV. But compared to the outgoing cars it will be a sales disaster. And from listening to all the buzz coming out of the car culture right now, even the 392 Hemi won't save this car anymore. Dodge needs to fast track the next-generation V8, and by fast track I mean next calendar year. If they don't create buzz around their products ASAP Dodge is cooked.
