All-Electric Cargo Hauler Launches in Europe With Huge Storage and Faster Charging

Fiat Professional just dropped a serious game-changer in Europe — the all-new all-electric eDucato Cargo Box BEV. The latest version of the popular work van is now rolling off the line at the Atessa Assembly Plant in Italy, and it’s generating excitement. Why? Because it brings together everything business owners and fleet buyers want: huge storage space, quick charging, and emissions-free operation.

A battery electric ProMaster has been on sale here for quite a while now. Ram does not offer a box van or cab-chassis model with a battery electric drive in our market, but I suspect only the cab-chassis version would get the green light for the USA market. I don't even think there is a gas version of a factory box truck sold here anymore by Ram. The way we buy and sell commercial vehicles is different in North America. The aftermarket typically handles the choice of cargo bed. I recognize that Dodge Trucks/ Ram has offered some box trucks in the past, but I've seen nothing lately.

There definitely is a market for battery electric delivery trucks here despite the end of EV mandates. Campers and RVs not so much, most of those have provisions for onboard gas generators for a reason.
