FCA-GAC Jeep Cherokee facelift for China

• 2.0 Tigershark 150 HP
• 2.4 Tigershark 175 HP
• 2.0 GME T4 235 HP
• 2.0 GME T4 272 HP

Both GME and GSE will be produced in China.

This year Cherokee sales where not as good as last year.
I don't know if it's related to launch of all new Commander and Grand Commander and this Cherokee facelift.

I'm not sure if engine list is good for Chinese market. It's one of the last markets which has a heavy taxation based on engine capacity.

So a naturally aspirated engines are not the best choices. Especially not a 2.4 liter NA engine.
And I don't that a 1.3 GSE would be a good fit for Cherokee.

Nothing wrong with GME T4.

After driving a 2019 Cherokee with the GME T4, I've got to say it is very impressive.

I think it might also have something to do with the EV incentives and the discouragement of combustion engines.
