Thought the poor lifter condition indicates that it had been run quite a bit.

lets estimate that they could run 75,000 in the three months, How many Cavities maybe 4? this is 2. So they would have to be going first in last out.

Sounds like a bad idea.

So I was going to replace my door panel. The parts guy said there were 4 revisions to the part number. Which brought the price down on the part. From 700$ to 184$. Big plus. But- he said the availability is not there. Something about waiting for enough orders to run a new batch. Said try ordering again in January.
Not sure how much of this is bs. But he said they may be looking for a new supplier and it’s possible that they might re section the part so as to not replace the entire card. In the meantime I will attempt a glue up, and will post my results.

I made my repair today. 90% satisfied. I’ll post pics of the process. I was quoted at $184(us) for a replacement. I spent ~$25 for the repair. Make sure to have regular masking tape on hand, painters tape doesn’t adhere to the door panel. I used 3m super 90. It advertised it wouldn’t melt polyurethane and is good for temperature. I Used wax and grease remover to clean and sanded the plastic a bit to give it bite. This was an hour job, or two days if you have twin toddlers.

I took pictures from outside the car before the repair, but must’ve erased them. The close up pic shows a 1/2 in plus gap that was visible from outside the car. The masking tape should be over the white section. If you look close you can see the foam is cracked. I’ll post an after winter storage update and a mid summer update.
Be ready with a solvent when you glue up. No matter how well you mask, you always get blow by. Unmask as soon as your done and clean before it sets. Also, have a paint brush handy to get all the nooks and crannies

Soooo.... starting to lift already. I was given the advice if using epoxy, didn’t take it. Don’t know if it would have faired better. Honestly too ocd to accept the repair before it started lifting. Was going to replace it anyway. i just wanted to try

Super glue ..... dang it Mike gets involved. The rigid plastic is PP... PP sticks to very little so you need a adhesive the stick to PP.

I may try it. I’m just wary about what melts certain things. But I still plan to replace it. Thanks

Well superglue is bonding adhesive. . Cyanoacrylate specifically works with PP. PP is adhesive unfriendly. make sure it clean and dry. Light sanding to make sure hard plastic portion is absent any foreign material or UV powdering............... tough deal when the components you process are 9 years old.

Final solution. New panel. Just over 200$ after tax. I was going to order it earlier, but the parts guy said there was a new revision coming soon. Told me to wait til January. In true fashion, I got it in March. I made sure that it was the latest version. Tried to take a pic of the date code. Let’s see if this will last more than 3 years. Odd that a tail lamp cost 450$ and a door card is only 200....
