Dodge Rebrands Attitude in Mexico as Attitude R/T

Dodge Rebrands Attitude in Mexico as Attitude R/T

Sportier Sedan Gets A Bold New Identity

When Dodge decided to freshen up its compact sedan lineup in Mexico, it didn’t just roll out a new trim—it changed the name entirely. As of July, the popular Dodge Attitude now officially goes by Dodge Attitude R/T, making “R/T” part of the car’s name rather than a trim designation. That means shoppers can actually buy an Attitude R/T SXT, Sport, or GT, which has already caused a little confusion, but Dodge says the move helps separate this new performance-inspired model from the value-focused Attitudes of years past.

Though I’m opposed to anything Chinese for our market, this Mexican Attitude R/T is a good test case for the market viability of a hot compact Dodge in the North American market. We are talking the concept, not this specific vehicle.
Stellantis has a golden opportunity to turn Belvedere into the STLA Medium platform center for North America. A mid size STLA manufacturing all in one facility. A real complex modeled after the successful Brazil complex but America focused. Can’t ignore success guys.
First, a number of vehicles across potentially four brands could be built off one platform with multiple power trains in one American factory, some derived from proven currently foreign (Mexico, Brazil, Italy) products totally reengineered ground up for American rules and market demands, and others legacy models.
Second, It solves the tariff issue, it solves the sales fluctuations issue for individual models, it is an easy expansion manufacturing opportunity, it can build Rams, Jeeps, Chryslers and Dodges off one flexible platform shaving development costs and doing so with proven vehicles and popular design elements and it will make our political leaders, the UAW and their members incredibly excited and supportive. I’m excited too !
Third, These will be vehicles the U.S. market is clearly clamoring for that can be delivered as Gasoline, Hybrid or BEV vehicles all in one shot. Bang!
The nameplates that come to mind for this venture are:
Chrysler-200,
Dodge -Hornet, Journey, Attitude
Jeep-Renegade, Comanche,
Ram- Rampage and even others still under consideration. Holy Mopar !
Let’s go big and bold on this golden opportunity, too good to dismiss.
Very Golden !
