Dodge Needs It’s Own Version of the Jeep® Wagoneer S

Dodge Needs It’s Own Version of the Jeep® Wagoneer S

Could a Performance SUV Be Dodge’s Missing Link?

As more buyers opt for SUVs than traditional cars, Dodge needs to expand its current lineup, and maybe another SUV is the answer. While the Dodge Hornet is nothing more than a rebadged Alfa Romeo, Dodge needs something to fit directly between it and the popular full-size Durango, and the all-new Jeep® Wagoneer S could be the basis for such a vehicle.

I got the chance yesterday to get a really good look at the new Charger yesterday as we finally got one at the Dealership I work at. First and foremost the car in Track Pack mode is loud but not obnoxious and you can definitely hear the car going down the street at a distance. It may be close to a stock scat pack in terms of volume and for what it's worth (yes it's "fake") but it doesn't sound bad. The Suspension on the Charger Daytona Scat pack looks fairly impressive and I feel like the car is going to handle really well, especially the six pack car because it will be ALOT lighter. (that battery pack is MASSIVE!!!) The car's interior is truly top notch and it is a fairly large car and I think in four door and with the Six Pack front end, this car is going to do very well, especially with the Hurricane-6 or even the potential of a base Hurricane-4 EVO powertrain. I still stand firm on my statements that Stellantis fell short with the lack of scallops on the door as it would have truly gave the car the styling it needed. It's truly a wide car with a coke bottle shape that does pay homage to the 68-70 cars and it has more character than the Challenger but it needs a tweak. The wheels are beautiful though, hopefully we'll get some replicas of those for the older Chargers. I also had the opportunity to experience the noisy 4Xe powertrain in the Jeep Grand Cherokee yesterday and to my surprise, it has more than enough for more than adequate acceleration, even in a decent sized SUV. My point is whatever comes out on the STLA Large platform, I feel will be a success. especially the non-EV vehicles. I think a 300+hp Hurricane-4 EVO powertrain mated to the 880RE hybrid transmission along with the Hurricane powertrains will easily push these car past what we have now with the Current (former) performance vehicles being the Challenger, Charger, 300, Jeep Grand Cherokee & Durango.
Quick Update: I Just got back from riding in the new 2024 Dodge Charger Daytona Scat Pack Stage-2. I can tell you from first hand experience the car is FAST!!!!!! Does it sound like a V8? No! Does it feel like a V8? No! Is it exciting? YES!!!!!!!!!!!!

I never liked the Scallops... There I said it. Not on the 68-70... Not Gen 2 or Gen 3 Modern Charger... Just looks cluttered. Prefer the clean line.

E - segment WL75 Durango 3 row
D- Segment Stla Large Brampton Stealth 2 row... Jump seat 3rd row option
C- Segment Stla Mid Hornet/Neon 2 row.
For a D-segment Dodge I think they should have something along the lines of the latest Peugeot 5008. That model is offered with fully electric, PHEV, and mild hybrid options. It has a GT trim as an option and three rows. It is built on the STLA Medium, but has a wheelbase of 114" with an overall length of 188.5".

A Dodge version could be built here with the next Compass, but there must be performance options using the GME-T four cylinder as well as an e-axle for the mild hybrid. The PHEV option would also use the GME four but use the rear drive unit from the EV version.

Rather see Dodge Get STLA large D…. Leave the narrow D for Chrysler

If I ran the brand, here would be my mainstream lineup outside the new Charger

I would love to see the next-gen Durango (STLA Large) E-Segment 3-Row offered both with EV and ICE, more rugged and more truck-like unibody SUV, RWD and AWD options

I had a similar idea but I was thinking that the Stealth could be half a size larger-- Grand Cherokee size.

The two Detroit plants could build three models each: SWB Grand Cherokee, Dodge Stealth, and Alfa Romeo E-SUV (which has been leaked as planned to be assembled in Detroit) at JNAP; and LWB Grand Cherokee L, Durango, and Chrysler Aspen at Mack.

Aspen doubt they run that one back
It obviously wouldn't share anything in common with the previous Aspen other than being based on the contemporary Durango. And of course they could use a different name if there is a stigma attached to the Aspen name (although I doubt enough folks even remember the Aspen for it to have a strong negative or positive connotation). Either way, a Chrysler based on the next Durango could have potential.

Just sayin ... that idea failed already.... without Pepe Coachwork might be less. E alfa, Dodge, and Jeep seems a lot

Fast back CUV maybe called 300??? :/ ????

Trying to keep my own preference out of this but people do tend to like these even though I have no concept why.
