They must choose the right engine and enough with PSA crap.
They have the GME PHEV out of Jeep with 375hp, and they have the MHEV out of Maserati with 325hp.
And there’s the upcoming “EVO”.
 
I owned a Fiat Spyder for a few years and loved it. It was very fun to drive. It looked great and was fun to shift gears and feel the road again. It was a real sports car in the true sense.
 
This would be a game changer. Other brands have done similar vehicles, but Dodge is a brand that could pull this off with more success. As stated, it must have the right go power and styling, but platforms exist at Stellantis that could get this to market quickly. It may have a limited market but great PR for Dodge and a pathway to more costly Dodges for first time buyers. Go build it Dodge.

If the Fiat Spyder was marketed as a Dodge instead of a Fiat, it would have sold better. It shares the underpinnings with the Mazda Miata.

has to be made in usa with gasoline motor 5.7 would be enough.not intereted in rebadged fiat
 
As I dance around my midlife crisis, I've been wanting a roadster. Some with two seats and RWD. I was leaning and pretty much set on an S2000. BUT beings a Viper is my dream car and I won't be able to afford one anytime soon, I hope Dodge makes a poor-me Viper cause I'll buy that instead. Can they get away with no safety features? At least 250 hp with a low curb weight and RWD for less than 30k and I'm sold.

Probably should delete my post cause I feel like I was playing it too safe. Didn't even think about the hemi in it. RWD roadster with a hemi would be fun
 
Why are we advocating for a non-compliant, heavy, and underpowered engine in a small hot car.

2.0 or 3,0... mated to e-axle would roast the 5.7 and be a track car also,

Heavy and underpowered, will throw off the balance. There a better power option... even the 1.3 with e-axle depending on the weight. Please no Punch
 
Of course, but if you go for Viper proportions it works. Long hood and sports car... Halo version
 
But a 450hp in a sports car less than $30k isn’t going to happen

Look around for a good used Chrysler Crossfire. I’ve owned two, a fastback and my current Roadster and they are so reliable, it handles amazingly and is so, so comfortable. Yes I know full well that they are Mercedes built in Germany, but that’s the point, same assembly line, same legendary German engineering, same appointments and parts, at a more affordable price. My wife and I love our Crossfire, take it to car shows where we get tons of complements and inquiries on the car leaving me to ask, “where were you guys in 2004 when you could have bought one then, since mine is NOT for sale” .Sorry ! Really, if you want a great sports car, ultra reliable and fun to drive, for under $25,000.00 even, look for a Crossfire.

Because Dodge needs a car that will sell. 2.0 and 3.0 Euro junk engines don't sell.

And because the original Cobra roadster didn't become legendary due to it's economy and thrifty nature. It became legendary because it was a small car with a big motor. This is America.
 
Mustang V6, Challenger V6 and Charger V6 are the volume sellers.
