To me all this talk of "shifting market" is funny. To say that the market is "shifting" insinuates that the masses wanted EVs but now suddenly they don't again. That is simply not the case. The market never shifted. The administration/agenda shifted.

The only difference now is that OE's can feel relaxed selling what people want to buy again, just as they did prior to 2020. It's back to business as usual. And that's good.

There should be OPTIONS for U.S. consumers. Let people buy what they want. Don't try to force feed them.

Yes but, the market truly did shift and the demand plateaued during the "dead robots" fiasco of the previous winter. Battery electric vehicles were sold with heavy portions of propaganda. There was a back drop of Chicken Little hysteria pushed by a more than cooperative main stream media just to sell a narrative. The battery fires were way underplayed and battery electric drive was offered as a magic panacea.

What that polar ice storm did in Chicago that one winter day was pull back the curtain on the sad reality of the limitations with electric battery power. The public was fooled into accepting the limited range, but when coupled to the sketchy charging infrastructure the scales quickly turned back towards IC engines.
 
The other thread got locked for some reason, but Cygnus nailed it six weeks ago. Looks like the Ram REV is done. Stick a fork in it.

Side note- While dining with someone from the job that I recently retired from, at an unnamed rental car company, I was informed that the entire EV program for our region has been scrapped. They are selling off all their battery electric vehicles and pulling out the charging stations at the airport location. If I had stayed on, my days as an EV pump jockey would have been brief. They still have a few charging stations at the central maintenance facility.
 
Ram Rev is -- but not the RamCharger (even if they're stupidly renaming it to REV I guess to add to the confusion??) He didn't call jack sh*t. We all saw it coming, they've been pushing it and pushing it and nobody reeeeaaally wanted it. So -- Again. Supply & Demand. There's no Demand, there will be no Supply.

Well, a moderator locked the thread based on the belief that his claims were only "speculation". So, Cygnus did indeed call it and that thread should be unlocked.

It is speculation until it is officially truth from the horses mouth. We all called it - the problem is Cygnus likes to say it like they're the only person in the world that saw it coming.
