Could The Next-Generation Dodge Charger & Challenger Be Built In America?

Could The Next-Generation Dodge Charger & Challenger Be Built In America?

American Muscle, Could Be Just That In 2024...

While the Dodge brand prides itself as America’s performance brand, the truth is that its two popular muscle car offerings – the Dodge Charger and Challenger are built in the suburbs of Toronto, Ontario, Canada. It’s been that way since Dodge and Chrysler launched the first of their rear-wheel-drive L-Series cars (the Dodge Magnum and Chrysler 300 Series) in 2004. But that could soon change, according to a report from Automotive News Canada.

They can satisfy Wall Street and the investors with their EV plan. But they can also keep the ICE cards close to their chest, and play it once a while.
The idea is the cars (Challenger & Charger) will launch EV powertrains as the only options, and as the outgoing cars end the ICE options get made available later on.

And this idea which almost all of us don’t like.
If the Challenger and Charger are to be on STLA Large, which was ICE only, then modified or re-engineered to adapt EV, then they can still make 2 versions of the Challenger and Charger.

Launching them in that way (EV 1st , then trickle down the ICE options) is act of “Wall Street Relations” so Stellantis can seem cool with investors instead of dinosaur.

If that’s actually the plan.

Tim in the CNBC interview, mentioned a rollout just like I posted previously.
He just didn’t give the reason for such rollout.

Tim’s statement can be understood 2 ways.
One way is what you said. The second way is classic will be the only way to get ICE, when the next generation will be EV only.
In the interview, he made it clear that he and Dodge will lose some customers because of the transition to EV and he’s ok with that.

Your concern is the lack of ICE?
Base on everything, there will be ICE Options, but later on , and most will be attach to some variation of Hybrids technology.

ICE only they will lose almost all customers. There isn't even Charging infrastructure in most of the country. Demand doesn't exist. I won't be buying a EV Dodge, and I would buy a EV. I would though by a PHEV.

That’s what I started to understand in the last few weeks.

You mean EV only??

Yes I won't buy a EV only Dodge, I want a Engine in my Dodges... I would consider a EV Chrysler. Powerplant is one of the reasons to have a Dodge, not to just go fast, but to have that rumbling in front of me. If it doesn't have a spot of fuel, it not on my shopping list.

They won't lose all customers... additional cost for electrified options will be a big reason. Another thing is I don't see all PHEV customers ever charging their vehicles all the time.

LARGE CHUNK.... I am in the clubs and go to the shows. A big part of identity of a Dodge is in the Powertrain. Unless you have 220 in your Garage nope... (if you have a Bolt make sure its outside) but my new house does in prep.

Funny the one Luxury where Electric perfectly fits in with the brand:Lexus.

Ferrari with EV do have interference with that brand identity(the sound).

Farrari is using it as a performance boost not sole source of propulsion\

Powerplants are not part of Toyota thing
