In a big move that’s been building behind the scenes for months, Chrysler has officially confirmed to us, it’s no longer going all-electric by 2028. Instead, the brand is embracing what it calls a “multi-energy” future—offering customers internal combustion (gas), hybrid, and electric vehicle (EV) powertrain options.

So I came upon this interesting article that talks about 4 variants of the STLA Large plaform. It sounds like they basically updated the Lx, CUSW/RT, Giorgio, and WL platforms and modified them to accept the various EV, ICE, and hybrid drivetrains.
We’ve said it before, STLA platforms are corporate renaming of FCA’s platforms

The important thing is for the Legacy North American brands to have some autonomy in determining style and engineering. We are sort of stuck with the 1.6 liter Pure-Tech hybrid engine, because the tooling is being installed for production in Michigan. We should not be stuck with the Punch transmission, there are better domestically built alternatives available. Even the designs from top suppliers that aren't built here can have production moved here.

I also hope it's not too late for an IC engine option in the Jeep Recon, such as a hybrid version. The Wagoneer S was too far along in the pipeline and arrived BEV only. The rear drive based versions of the STLA Large platform can use the ZF hybrid tech, any front drive based variant drive train systems still remain to be seen.
