Chrysler CEO Outlines Bold Future at Chrysler Carlisle Nationals

Chrysler CEO Outlines Bold Future at Chrysler Carlisle Nationals

Talks SRT Revival, New Models, and Affordable Cars Are In The Works

BU025_072EV.jpeg

Chrysler fans at this year’s Carlisle Chrysler Nationals got a rare and exciting opportunity to hear straight from Chrysler CEO Chris Feuell about what’s next for the brand. In a candid fireside chat-style Q&A, Feuell touched on everything from performance vehicles to affordability—laying out a vision that shows Chrysler is far from done.

Affordability is more important than ever. I remember not very long ago you could get a Chrysler minivan for about $18,000. The plant ran 24/7 building them, the dealerships couldn't keep them in stock and families had affordable transportation. Whoever had a problem with that and decided to triple the price and slow the plant and sales to a crawl needs their head examined.

And the company went bankrupt..
Talk about "Out Of Touch".

Actually they were the most profitable automaker, try to keep up.

Stock price July 1999 $72.12
Stock price as of now $10.07

Out of touch?

And get this - people were actually working and making money at all the supplier plants, Chrysler plants, dealerships and everything else associated with them. Now? Lol

Sorry I still don’t trust or have faith in Chris, but I really do believe in Antonio, Tim, Matt and Ralph. So I am holding out hope for Chrysler. I thing it all come down to timing and how long it takes to get new product into showrooms and on lots.

I think when people talk about affordability, they don't necessarily mean a compact car.
They're talking about minivans, and mid-size 3-row SUVs, and mid to large passenger cars, and pick-up trucks.

Give people THOSE kinds of vehicles at around the $30k price point and then you'll have something.

But they'll never do that,

Second the stock you are referring to is Mercedes-Benz stock(that artist formerly known as Daimler, DCX).

Hopefully all the talking points, obviously nothing more, come to fruition. Not a Feuell fan, but maybe she will come through under Tim’s leadership. Not sure how she landed this job. It’s time for results.

BTW forgot to ask in my last post. Is Chris being paid for doing nothing with zero results? Or is she just eye candy until they get things going and she gets replaced?

I believe they are paying her 2 to 3 million a year for her Stellar performance. It’s absolutely mind boggling how people land these jobs and produce nothing but lip service. Time to get some results to market already.

I wonder who she’s giving the goods to. Any other CEO that has done such a piss poor job would have been fired long ago.

She honestly makes Carlos look good. I mean, he at least has a track record. She has….nothing. Not one damn thing that she’s done.

I'm wondering if anyone can direct me towards more information about Ms. Feuell's performance as Chrysler CEO. I know that we are all disappointed that there have been no new products under her leadership, but we also know that most new product development was frozen when FCA merged with PSA, and that Jeep product development has been prioritized over Chrysler and Dodge. And while Chrysler sales have stumbled this year, the Pacifica was one of FCA US's best-selling models in 2024, outselling the entire Dodge brand by a significant margin.

I do not know the intricacies of how automakers function at the corporate level, but it seems unlikely to me that Ms. Feuell has been single-handedly vetoing new products for her brand. Who makes the decisions about which products go into production?

I'm not defending Ms. Feuell's performance as Chrysler's CEO because I do not know enough about what the role entails to make a judgment. I see lots of folks bashing her on here but no one has provided concrete examples of how she has been ineffective. While I assume that the brand's challenges may be her fault, it also seems possible that she is in a rough position as the CEO of a brand that has been sidelined by the greater corporate leadership where her hands are tied. For all I know, she might have amazing, visionary plans for the brand that she is not being allowed to execute. She could also be a talentless hack. I currently do not have enough information to make that distinction. Any factual information to enlighten me would be appreciated.

That said, suggesting that she has her job because she is giving someone "the goods" is pretty tacky and would not be said about a male CEO with the exact same record.

Tacky, or right on the nailhead?

Your last bit is 100% accurate, we (I) wouldn’t ask the question of a male, as a male would have been sh*t canned already. By all means, show me another ceo with a record of….nothing (literally, nothing) that has kept their job. Anywhere. Any gender. It may exist but I can’t think of one.

So, either I’m right on the money, or she’s just a dei figurehead which is equally bad and appalling and disgusting. For the feminists out there…..this ain’t it. “Oh we have another female ceo!” they would say. And the counter to that is…”That has literally done and accomplished nothing in her role.” Great job.

While it’s true she may have a grand vision that has been rebuked, even at that all ceos have that at times and yet manage to have a track record, a history. She does not.

They either need to get serious on Chrysler or retire it. There’s bad management, there’s incompetent management, and then there’s the way Chrysler has been managed. Pitiful
