Chrysler is taking a major step into the future of family transportation by announcing an all-electric version of its beloved Pacifica minivan. Chrysler/Ram CEO Christine Feuell revealed the news during the 2024 LA Auto Show, stating the Pacifica name will carry into the electric era, leveraging its strong market recognition and customer loyalty.

The batwing is a work of art. the rest of the front end looks typical EV ugly but that batwing.............. Can we all just stare in a moment of awe. That has to be the best factory emblem ever. Now if Chrysler were to make a four door performance NON ELECTRIC coupe with that emblem, in black, with a hurricane engine or a new V8, This just might save the world.

Confusing. An updated restyled Pacifica, most likely carrying over current architecture. Then next year we get an all electric Pacifica. More confusion at Chrysler? Could be my confusion on this topic. Help.

Bill I am getting the vibe from this is the ICE version will get the facelift update next year and the EV which will also be called the Pacifica will have its own look, maybe a combo of the 700C concept and Portal concept. I really see there will be some sort of a difference between the “old” ICE version and the EV. Just how I read this.

Interesting take. The gas powered Pacifica, affordable and updated continues as demand for conventional ICE minivans lives on and the all new electric Pacifica is eased into the lineup. Makes really good sense. Actually too smart to truly get my confidence back. Is common sense alive and well at Chrysler again? I’d be fully convinced if the new SUV based off the Cherokee and a replacement 300 sedan based off the Charger launch as hybrids. Until then I will take your logic as a confidence builder. Thanks !

By all means bring out the Portal. It is futuristic and beyond cool! As we all know, Chrysler needs new product and soon.

The perception of minivans as "soccer mom" vehicles is a stereotype that has persisted for decades. Minivans are often seen as practical, family-oriented transportation, but they lack the "cool factor" of SUVs or trucks. This perception has made automakers struggle to market minivans to broader audiences, even when these vehicles offer unbeatable versatility and space.

When it comes to Stellantis potentially launching an all-electric Chrysler Pacifica, there are multiple challenges. First, the minivan market itself is niche, appealing to families who prioritize practicality. Adding an EV powertrain to a minivan could further limit its appeal, especially as EVs face declining popularity due to concerns about charging infrastructure, range anxiety, and the rising costs of raw materials affecting vehicle prices.

An all-electric Pacifica would need to overcome the "soccer mom" stigma while justifying its value in a world where EV adoption is slowing. Families—its core audience—might hesitate to switch to an EV minivan if they perceive it as more expensive or less convenient than hybrid or internal combustion engine (ICE) alternatives. Additionally, Stellantis would need to differentiate it from hybrid models like the current Pacifica Hybrid, which already offers excellent fuel economy without the potential headaches of a fully electric vehicle.
