The anticipation for the 2026 Jeep® Grand Cherokee (WL) is heating up. Spy photographers from KGPPhotography recently caught several prototypes testing on public roads. These images give us a sneak peek into the changes Jeep is preparing for the brand’s most popular and award-winning SUV offering.

Anyone seen the specs on the new Hurricane 4? Math would say the current Hurricane 6 is making 91 hp per cylinder that even if we round down to 85 because of loss of the pressure wave to the turbo you're creeping up on 350 hp. This ranges it around early Eagles and well beyond the Pentastar

Does anyone know when the official launch of the 2025 GJC will be and when order books might open?
I just noticed that they published the 2025 code guides for the WL. These are used by dealers and corporate lessees. They still list the V6 as the standard engine and it appears identical to the 2024. Looks like they will continue to build the older version and label it a 2025. Perhaps they are not ready to build the refreshed model.

Wow, thanks.. Might be waiting until late 2025 to see an early refreshed 2026 model at this rate.

KGP Photography has captured the first images of a prototype of 2026 Jeep® Grand Cherokee L Limited 4×4 testing near the Chrysler Technical Center (CTC) in Auburn Hills, Michigan. This marks the first time a three-row Grand Cherokee L (WL75) for the upcoming model year has been spotted, giving us an exciting look at the potential upgrades and refinements Jeep is working on for its award-winning SUV.

After thinking about it Jeep just needs to revamp the 3.6L and put twin turbos on it. Looking around at other car manufacturer a lot of twin turbo's V6 or inline 6’s coming aboard. Do not put a cheap ass 4 banger in the new 2025 Jeep Grand Cherokee or you will see sales tank. And if they do tank and they will you are to blame because your Jeep faithful deserve better. I for 1 have a 2023 on a lease and I love it. I was going to wait till the 2025 come out to buy a new one as my lease will be up shortly after the new release but if you put in a 4 banger I will either purchase my Jeep or trade it in on another car brand. Probably Chevrolet! Just look at your bad choice to bring out that worthless sheet metal Dodge Dart, how’s that working out for you? It’s not, and that just goes to show that your upper management and design team has no clue what your customers really want. Don’t make this mistake with the 2025 JGC!!!

What/who are your sources?

Because I'm not seeing/hearing the things you are predicting.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. the Mopar brands need 2 platforms (STLA Large & Frame), 4-engines (2.0L Hurricane-4 EVO, 3.0L Hurricane S/O, 3.0L Hurricane H/O and Cummins 6.7L), 2-transmissions (ZF Gen-4 hybrid plug in, ZF Powerline diesel transmission) & 4-5 vehicles per mopar lineup. Make everything a hybrid with the ZF Gen-4 transmission backing it and call it a day. If the Hurricane-4 EVO makes just over 300hp and over 300lb-ft of torque, add the hybrid transmission behind it and you have the next gen 4Xe with more hp and torque. This isn't rocket science it's common sense. Stellantis wants to have everything electrified by 2035 or whatever, okay fine. we don't like full BEVs for all of our own reasons but most of us are cool with the idea of hybrids. The ZF gen-4 transmission is a hybrid unit with everything on the inside of it for the most part. Hurricane engines + hybrid transmission = reduced emissions, full electric modes for emissions free driving, improved range/mpg-E, improved performance, happy customers which to Stellantis, should mean PROFIT! It also means simplified lineups and actually helps their plants regulate work better with clearer projected goals because everything isn't all over the place. It also means that your lineups make sense and vehicles will be marketable. Just thinking it through even just simply on the Dodge end, an entry level trim Charger GT with say even 385hp and maybe 420lb-ft of torque from the hybrid setup with AWD and a few options along with a Journey sized revision of the Hornet on the STLA LArge Platform and the Durango really just makes sense. With Jeep, having this single setup across the board, just with more torque possibly reaching 485lb-ft makes sense, but then again, Jeep's lineup should include four vehicles being the Cherokee & Grand Cherokee on the STLA Large platform and the Wrangler & Gladiator on the frame platform. Obviously something this small wouldn't work on vehicles such as the Ram vehicles (except for maybe a smaller STLA;Frame Dakota) So for the 1500, the 3.0L S/O hybrid and 3.0L H/O hybrid would be what the trucks would use and the 2500+ would be diesel only. K.I.S.S Keep It Simple Stellantis!

New Info and Pics coming tomorrow.

Robert (and everyone else),
Can you go back to your sources and ask about the deletion of the 3.6 V-6 for the 2025 MY GC? Perhaps get confirmation?

Because here's a link to the emissions certification of the 3.6 in the GC for MY 2025 in California.
Seems like a lot of work to go thru just to drop an engine.

Perhaps run this link by your sources and see what they say.

CAUGHT: 2026 Jeep® Grand Cherokee Summit 4xe

Spotted In High Altitude Appearance Form In Auburn Hills...

Recently, spy photos from KGP Photography captured the 2026 Jeep® Grand Cherokee Summit High Altitude 4xe testing on public roads near the Auburn Hills Headquarters. These images offer a first look at the updated plug-in hybrid (PHEV) variant of the iconic Grand Cherokee (WL), revealing exciting enhancements that align with the changes we have seen on pervious prototypes.

Audi does this with nearly every vehicle they make.

2L engine in a $65K vehicle. They're out of their god damn minds. I don't care how many HP it has or what the Explorer has. I will never buy a new Jeep again.

The formula isn't hard guys - high displacement engines (3.6L, minimum) + mild hybrid. Build the CAFE overages / fines into the price of the vehicle.

Pretty much the attitude that nearly killed the industry in early 70s... there is zero logic behind it other than wanting lazy inefficient underdeveloped engines.

Keep telling the consumer they're wrong - that'll show 'em.

Enjoy going down with this ship.
