Canada Slashes Tariff-Free Vehicle Imports for Stellantis & GM​

Ottawa Clamps Down After Automakers Scale Back Canadian Production​

In a decisive move, Canada’s federal government has cut the number of U.S.-assembled vehicles that Stellantis and General Motors (GM) are allowed to import into the country tariff-free—an action taken in response to the manufacturers’ recent decisions to reduce their footprint in Canadian production.

 
to be honest, they need to reconfigure Brampton to make STLA Frame, make the Ram 1500 and perhaps a BoF SUV for the local market as they can no longer rely on any stability on the whims of someone who is just changing their mind on any given day
 
Strong Independent Canada should make vehicle for Canada, and work from a position of reciprocal trade otherwise, with all it trading partners.

If the plant could make the Ram 1500, Cherokee, Grand Cherokee and maybe something else just for Canada it'll run 24/7. Are they able to do that with a "flex plant" ?

(may be a moot point if most of the parts are getting drilled with tariffs)
