Same here. I'm looking at replacing my 2009 Ram 1500 with a DT Ram 1500 or a 2500. Used the Build Your Own function on the web site to get an idea of new price, and then started looking at used. What a shock! I'm NOT paying near new prices for a 1 or two year old used vehicle even if it only has 15K miles. Fortunately, I really like my Ram and it still runs good. Just retiring in December, my wife surprised me with the cash to pay for most of the truck, and we will be towing our camper around more once retired. I can afford to get more miles out of the 2009 and take my time while this mess sorts itself out.
Invoice or MSRP? In either case I can wait as long as up to 2023.
Prices will likely increase even more next year, not sure waiting is going to help. If you can get one at MSRP right now I'd do it. And if your financing, Chrysler Capital is still offering 72 month zero interest loans, and that is free money. That also may not be available later on.

Yes, headquartered in Texas, but any dealer can use them, for example I'm in Arizona. In the last week of December 2021 they gave me a 72 month zero percent loan on a 2021 1320 and a 2021 Durango TNT. The dealer was surprised they allowed me to have the deal on two vehicles at the same time. Not sure what the minimum down payment is but I offered $5,000 on each vehicle and it was accepted. I would have walked on the Durango if I didn't get it the deal, bad enough having two car payments at the same time. Zero interest sealed the deals for me, plus I got them both under MSRP and the dealer gave me 84 month zero deductible factory extended service plans at cost.Where is Chrysler Capital located?

I actually didn't use my closest dealer which is only 20 miles away. I drove approx. 65 miles because I had purchased two Ram trucks there in '18 & '19 and they gave me way better deals than the local dealer. No hassles, no games, no stress. I have been purchasing new vehicles for over 4 decades now and at the first sign of BS I walk. It's worth shopping around for a dealer you can trust, even if it means traveling out of town to do it. I would imagine you would have a lot to chose from in CA, bummer though is you have to have a front license plate there. We tried driving w/o them on our nicer cars when we lived there and always got pulled over it; sucks...
