All new electric Fiat 500

For the 42 kWh battery version the usable capacity is 37.3 kWh.
 
Nominal voltage of the version with 42 kWh battery is 350 V (it should be 395 V for the smaller battery version).
Operating temperature range of the battery is -30 / 60°C (not of the operating temperature of the vehicle).

Electric motor maximum power of 87 KW is at 4200 rpm, while maximum torque is 220 Nm.
The one speed transmission has a reduction ratio of 1:9.56.
 
I watched several German-language all-praise reviews of the new 500 over the weekend. Press event in Frankfurt. Only critic I remember was hard plastics at the doors and no dedicated room for the cables. All very impressed!
 
Yes, and the review posted up here from Thomas is great. He is a very thorough reviewer. I think that for a city car it hits all the right points, and hard plastics at the doors is the norm in this segment.
I really liked the 3+1 door, especially because I am around Thomas height (1.84m). It makes accessing the rear seats so much easier. :)

Yup. Hopefully in a couple of years when battery costs come down they manage to increase battery size in the cheaper versions.
 
I'm waiting to order one of these now - I have discovered that Irish ordering will not begin until January (we're always a few months behind because of right-hand-drive). There's usually a 10-12 week lead-time on orders here, but based on the initial press reviews I get a feeling that there could be a backlog. With 12,000 pre-orders placed before there was even a review published, and such positive press, I would not be surprised if this car hits its 80k production limit in 2021.

@Deckard Cain - I think when battery costs come down, we'll see the new Panda BEV (or Centoventi, or whatever it will be).

I actually don't think the low battery range for the Action model is going to be a major problem for the people it's aimed at, and there are probably more of these than you think. I'm thinking of people who live not in cities, but in smaller towns and villages, know almost nobody who lives more than 60km from their home (except for family members who moved to places so far away that you'd be better off taking the train). A BEV might seem an expensive option for such casual drivers, but it's very, very cheap on running costs, much more reliable, and in some places the EV grants make the Action as cheap as the ICE model.
 

There should be also the original 500, the Topolino.

For some reason Fiat prefers to show the 1957 generation as the original and ignore the Topolino. The Cinquecento of the 90s was a pretty popular car for young drivers here. My brother had a black Sporting. Not meant to be premium, but fun!

My big sister had a Fiat 600 Abarth and drove rally.
It fascinated me that you could not close the engine cover, the Abarth was just too big.
