I guess I’m odd man out. I like the new car. It’s really grown on me. I’m assuming the 3.0L ICE version with 420 HP will be the new base model, so in theory it should start at $39,995. There will almost certainly be tuners available within a year or two that will bump that power up considerably since it’s a turbo car. SO…..that’s all the car I need and I will be in line to get one ASAP.

Question will be, which color to get. Hmm… If they do it in Sinamon Stick I’m sold.

It’s either blue (Bludicrous) or orange (Peel Out)

I'm thinking now $39,995 ain't happening. But hopefully it'll still come in under $50k for the base Six Pack.

When will the EV version hit the build and price tool online? Soon??

I believe before October that happens.

I think a 2.0L fleet model could make the $40K number.

So the lease "deal" shown on the website as of today is for the Daytona R/T for $611/month with $5,200 down on a 36 month term. That INCLUDES the $7,500 tax credit factored in. OUCH.

So with the MSRP on the example car being $66,500 that means the effective residual value on the car at the end of 36 months is estimated somewhere around $27,000 (assuming they're giving a promotional money factor/interest rate that is below standard values right now). That's essentially a 40% residual value on a brand new model which is brutal. Compare that to normal vehicles like the Ram 1500 DT which was around 55% when it debuted, or the Jeep Wrangler JL which was around 62% when it came out. Woof.

A guy would have to absolutely LOVE this new EV Charger to be willing to take a bath like that in one. I'm still holding out hope that the ICE version will be priced significantly lower and residuals will be higher and the combo of the two will make the car attainable.
