RETURN FROM EXTINCTION: A HEMI® TRX Will Return In 2026!

The HEMI-Powered Beast Returns, and It Could Be More Powerful Than Ever

Over the weekend, the internet was buzzing with rumors about the sweeping changes Stellantis is reportedly planning to course-correct after the tenure of former CEO Carlos Tavares. One of the most talked-about topics was the potential return of a HEMI®-powered Ram TRX.

That video has me nervous with excitement. Sounds like maybe SRT is coming back? I don't see how Dodge doesn't also end up with a Hemi again - Charger included.

I’d hope so Dodge would use the 6.4 and Hellcat Redeye on the new Charger. But considering they want to get rid of the stock pile of Redeye engines, I don’t see them offering it in other than the TRX, and I hope they round it up to 800hp for bragging rights.

Say what you want but John Elkann isn’t messing around about fixing Stellantis N.A.!!
Keep it going John!!!

Hopefully Stellantis can find a way to balance their lineup and make room for all of the powertrains they have now. It's cool the Hellcat is coming back to fight the F150 Raptor-R and that the option for V8 power remains. Maybe we will see Ram & Dodge Return to using V8 engines and see Jeep & Chrysler make use of the Hurricane family for the most part. If Dodge does decide to put a V8 in the Charger, I hope the AWD remains and also that the V8s are exactly the same as they were before. Tbh, a 5.7L Hemi V8 upgraded with a 6.1L forged crankshaft, a 6.4L crank, heads, intake manifold, throttle body, CAI & headers wouldn't be the worst thing in the world under the hood of the new Charger. The old Mopar "Scat Pack Stage-3 kits were essentially this (minus the intake) and gave around 455hp with a decent amount of torque. Lets say conservatively have a mild "Direct Connection" type ECU programing with this along with the manifold and say we get 470hp from this setup. That puts the 5.7L Hemi above the 3.0L Standard output Hurricane (420hp) and the 3.0L High Output Hurricane's 550hp. Add in Forged pistons and rods, change the valvetrain over to the redeye valvetrain and throw a redeye supercharger on it and now you have an SRT variant that can stare down the 670hp numbers that the Daytona scat pack makes. I feel like that would make alot more people happy.
