100% of the proceeds go to the United Way

Last week we told you about what was being called “The ultimate last chance”, the last production Dodge Challenger SRT Demon and Dodge Viper that were being auctioned off at Barrett Jackson over the weekend.

The weekend has come and gone and the final production 2017 Dodge Viper and 2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon have sold for $1 Million US. The winning bidder took home the cars themselves as well as authentication kits for both vehicles consisting of: letters of authenticity, assembly line build sheets, carbon fibre certification cards as well as a Demon and Viper branded tablet loaded with photos and videos. The Demon also came with a Demon crate signed by FCA CEO Sergio Marchionne, a framed letter from the NHRA “banning” the Demon from competing at NHRA sanctioned tracks without the required safety equipment and a Track Tech Manual created by the editors of Hot Rod magazine. Both vehicles also came with aluminum wall art pieces, the Vipers piece consists of build photos, a list of the Vipers achievements over the years as well as an embossed logo. The piece for the Challenger SRT Demon consists of the official time slip and Guiness world record certificate of the 9.65 1/4 mile run as well as a photo and an embossed logo.

100% of the proceeds from the auction have gone to the United Way, a charity that FCA regularly donates to. Over the past 2 years the FCA design team has raised $24,000 for the United Way selling custom automotive themed works of art to other FCA employees, which is something they are continuing to this day. Back in December of 2017 FCA Canada employees donated almost $1.26 million to the United Way, also in December 2017 the FCA Foundation which is the charitable arm of FCA donated $500,000 to the United way as well. FCA employees have donated over $1 Million annually for over 30 years.

While we are sad to see the Viper and Demon end their production run this was an awesome opportunity for a lucky buyer to pick up 2 special iconic vehicles and have the proceeds go to a good cause.
