Low weight is more than 1/4 mile times.
I drive on a lot of curvy back country roads. I'm no professional, and even I can tell the difference in my cars from the lightest ones to the heaviest ones.
The lighter ones are simply SO much easier to handle and toss around. They've come ready to dance...
That's better than the EV at 5,800 lbs, but it should be lighter. Like 3,800 - 4,200 lbs.
No doubt a compromise/concession of building a one-size-fits-all platform.
Not crazy about the sound.
Which is weird, cuz great sound can be had from a turbo 6.
Buick Grand National is case in point.
For me, if a 6 doesn't sound like a GN, then just muffle it up.
Looks a lot like the Charger, but a lot better, for some reason.
It wouldn't be my cup a tea with the FWD, but with the following changes, It would be a compelling car. Not sure if these changes would push it out of the $30k price point.
- make it RWD
- increase the dash-to-axle ratio
- shorten...
I think when people talk about affordability, they don't necessarily mean a compact car.
They're talking about minivans, and mid-size 3-row SUVs, and mid to large passenger cars, and pick-up trucks.
Give people THOSE kinds of vehicles at around the $30k price point and then you'll have...
Great news!!
Does this now mean:
1) The Grand Cherokee Trackhawk will be back?
2) Jeep will drop the rumored asinine idea of axing the Pentastar V-6 from the Grand Cherokee engine line-up? Or....
alternatively, replace the Pentastar V-6 with the Hurricane I-6?
I'm not so sure the V-6 will be going away.
Trump is set to relax the fuel economy requirements and slash the EV requirements.
The Hemi might even come back.
I guess we'll have to wait until the 2026 is released to see.
This will allow melted salt water to get into the hidden areas of the vehicle and rot it from the inside out.
Plus the added complexity. And added cost.
All the double speak Stellantis provides.
The reality is, they have WAYYY too much inventory on their lots and they need to thin that out.
They have too much inventory because their stuff is way overpriced and there are no good financing options.
