Final solution. New panel. Just over 200$ after tax. I was going to order it earlier, but the parts guy said there was a new revision coming soon. Told me to wait til January. In true fashion, I got it in March. I made sure that it was the latest version. Tried to take a pic of the date code...
Soooo.... starting to lift already. I was given the advice if using epoxy, didn’t take it. Don’t know if it would have faired better. Honestly too ocd to accept the repair before it started lifting. Was going to replace it anyway. i just wanted to try
I took pictures from outside the car before the repair, but must’ve erased them. The close up pic shows a 1/2 in plus gap that was visible from outside the car. The masking tape should be over the white section. If you look close you can see the foam is cracked. I’ll post an after winter storage...
I made my repair today. 90% satisfied. I’ll post pics of the process. I was quoted at $184(us) for a replacement. I spent ~$25 for the repair. Make sure to have regular masking tape on hand, painters tape doesn’t adhere to the door panel. I used 3m super 90. It advertised it wouldn’t melt...
Not too sure what you can get from the picture. There was another piece of plastic riveted over the rest of the molded information. I wasn’t about to remove it
Thankful that the article states ”opinion“ clearly.
also glad the Article was composed in a professional, thinking man‘s manor. Whether I agree or disagree, it was worth my time to read it. Most opinion articles are easily skipped after a paragraph or two.
I thank its author for his viewpoint.
So I was going to replace my door panel. The parts guy said there were 4 revisions to the part number. Which brought the price down on the part. From 700$ to 184$. Big plus. But- he said the availability is not there. Something about waiting for enough orders to run a new batch. Said try...
True!
mustang enthusiasts go by series as well as Mercedes and Porsche, and countless other marks as well
but what would be worse for sales? The new “Chrysler “ wrangler or the new Jeep “Insert two letter code here”?
bet you would loose all those mall drivers. Those shoppers pay the bills at fca
I don’t believe fca has missed any sales of pickup trucks because buyers were befuddled by the brand change.
Also, it’s nothing new. I believe dodge Plymouth and Chrysler all had neons. Plymouth and Chrysler prowler.
What struck me as odd was, why bring back voyager name when grand caravan was...
Could the plastic be produced in huge batches and warehoused until needed, at which point it would go int final assembly and receive the correct “upholstery” for the model it was going into?
I don’t intend to attempt a repair until fall. I will look for the markings then and report back. I understand that any glue residue must be removed before new adhesive applied, but am curious if you could recommend a safe solvent for this. I don’t want to melt anything and I believe you...
I wouldn’t even know how about forming a complaint. My dealer says it isn’t covered under a goodwill policy. It’s my fault for not looking for it sooner, as I knew about the issue. As I said, I’m going to try contact adhesive. And go with new ones if I don’t like the results. I’m hoping a recall...
2017 charger. Just out of warranty on mine, by days. I’ve slight separation on my drivers side front, more prevalent on the passenger side. None on the rear doors yet. Having it looked at tomorrow with the hopes of a good will fix. If not, I’ll try some 3m trim adhesive. If that’s a no go, I’ll...
I haven’t done the math, but if you add trim, sxt GT rt scatpack, ta, ta 392, drag pack, hellcat, hellcat wb, hellcat redeye , for every model, you might just get there. I think it’s more just for fun.
and to make sure the public knows how big their, “ahem” numbers Are.

yes, they had the right oil and mopar brand filter, so yes, I saved 28 cents doing it myself...
Soooo question? Was this a coordinated attack for the purpose of robbing a dealership and stripping cars? maybe a real life gone in 60 seconds? If this was just looters and rioters, doubtful so many would be stripped.
but if you wake up in the morning with a stolen car in the yard, what do you...
FWIW, ordered an art oil change pack on amazon. 7 qts art branded penzoil 0-40 and a filter $79.96. Came out to $86.96 total. Ordered on the 18th, arrived on the 23rd.
I went this route after stopping at two stores with no spots on the shelf for it. At that point I wasted enough time to warrant...
As far as the corvette being far from dying, what was the average age of buyers? I think I heard 61. While that’s not too old for a premium car, I’d say it is for a sports car. Once a car becomes a grandpa mobile, it’s not cool to kids, and they won’t look to buy one when the get the means.
