Stellantis 1st half earnings and conference call

Seems like there has been some European conference call already. Some reports mention it.

Alfa Romeo sales in several european countries have more than doubled in 23Q1 compared to 22Q1

The resurrection continues! But the percentage increases should fall now, since the Tonale came to market in June 2022 in Europe. Alfa Romeo posts record-breaking global business results in the first 6 months of 2023 Alfa Romeo ends the first half of 2023 with exceptional figures: globally...

A New Name For The Wagoneer S Could Be Coming Soon!

If they make Wagoneer a premium/luxury sub-brand with several models, shouldn't Jeep rename the big Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer as well? I know, there's no logic in the Chrysler/FCA US naming history … 😆

    Alfa Romeo News

According to this article, Alfa just announced a 190 hp version of the Tonale PHEV. 2700 € cheaper than the 280 hp with the same trim, avoiding a malus in some countries. If I remember right, a 190 hp version was already planned pre-launch...

    New Fiat Topolino

This tiny electric vehicle (sister to Citroën Ami and Opel Rocks) will be presented on July 4, together with the new Fiat 600. There will be different versions, also with doors. I could imagine Fiat bringing it over to the US together with the 500, if they see their niche in urban transportation...

The obscene price of the e-308 in Spain. Dead on arrival?

If it's a total flop at those prices or selling at a level that might be ok for Peugeot.

The obscene price of the e-308 in Spain. Dead on arrival?

Yes, nothing British left. Belongs to SAIC. According to Wikipedia there was some British production until 2016.

The obscene price of the e-308 in Spain. Dead on arrival?

Better not. Sales numbers will tell. I think the price decision makers need some time to adjust to changed market conditions. Big %%% coming?

Dodge Hornet GT AWD Fails TFLCar’s Diagonal Slip Test

I don't know how different the suspension is, but the standard Hornet rides much higher than the Tonale.

Alfa Romeo sales in several european countries have more than doubled in 23Q1 compared to 22Q1

Alfa's complete registration numbers for the EU are in: +200% in March, +150% in Q1. Close to 12,000 cars in 2023 now. Not so bad compared to 2022! https://www.acea.auto/pc-registrations/new-car-registrations-28-8-in-march-battery-electric-13-9-market-share/

Alfa Romeo sales in several european countries have more than doubled in 23Q1 compared to 22Q1

As much as I hate Manleys decisions for Alfa, they would have needed active development of additional models already before the Giulia got launched. If you wait to see if a model is a success until you start to design the next one, you'll always keep five year gaps between launches. Great...

Tavares Says Electric Vehicles Cost 40% More To Manufacture

Owner forums only show singular experiences. Platforms like spritmonitor.de will show the overall picture, but it's not listed yet. Almost all competition in the B-segment comes from Asia, because most European car companies struggle with this financial task. From Europe only the Zoe comes to my...

Tavares Says Electric Vehicles Cost 40% More To Manufacture

They do. On the German website actually 15.9-15.3 kWh/100 km according to WLTP. I don't know how that can translate to 400 km range. But it has to by the rules, otherwise the advertising message would be illegal.

Yes, and why? Because it's hard to make money with in Europe.

So where's the competitive small EV from BMW group? Not existing, they have to outsource to China for electric MINI. Where's the competitive small EV from Mercedes (ex Daimler) Group? Not existing, they sold Smart to China. Where's the competitive small EV from VW Group? Not existing, they...

Tavares Says Electric Vehicles Cost 40% More To Manufacture

I do agree that the industry has to adjust their prices. But that doesn't mean the cars are overpriced from an industrial viewpoint. Remember that the Model 3 was 6000 € more expensive just two weeks ago. They might raise their prices again in three months. About WLTP ranges, they are totally...

Tavares Says Electric Vehicles Cost 40% More To Manufacture

I don't know if it's fair to call the Stellantis EVs "ridiculously overpriced". It's hard to compare European pricing and costs with Chinese products which don't wear the "burden" of workers rights, unions and environmental protection. Also the Chinese government might subsidize them for the...
