10,000 units per year and the combined Opportunity Cost of occupying plant capacity with this and the Recon, with total program costs shared between the two are at least over $2 billion. You're damn right 10K vehicles a year is a flop.
Maybe the largest and most profitable automaker in the...
They’re going to be three years late with the 3L PHEV. I am hearing late calendar 2026 for the 2027 Durango replacement. Followed by the 2028 Grand Cherokee replacement.
Tavares cries about suppliers - good, go make an eight speed transmission to replace ZF.
This transmission, something to...
@bill burke - 100% agree
The WL front end is an improvement over WK2. The rear is a big step back. These little feminine slits for lights in the back, are of course, presumably cheaper than the WK2 lights.
Sometimes I feel the whole industry has collectively lost its mind after 2019. The only...
2L engine in a $65K vehicle. They're out of their god damn minds. I don't care how many HP it has or what the Explorer has. I will never buy a new Jeep again.
The formula isn't hard guys - high displacement engines (3.6L, minimum) + mild hybrid. Build the CAFE overages / fines into the price of...

What vehicles are you comparing when you're referencing a 40% improvement? Are you referring to something other than MPG?
A 3.6L ICE Wrangler has 285 HP, gets 23 MPG combined, and has 332 miles of total range.
Now here's what it gets tricky -
A 4xE Wrangler has 375 HP, but only gets 270ish...
5.7 stock -
0-60 / 5 seconds flat
0-100 / 11.7 seconds
No replacement for displacement.
All that crazy complexity and increase in cost, for zero benefit, from the same people that said 'trust the science' and shut down society for the better part of two years.
Butter is 100% on the mark and has correctly called it, starting in late 2022/early 2023 of what was coming down the pipe (disaster).
I'm sure the idiots in Paris/CTC see him as a panic merchant - maybe take a look at the sales tables and look in the mirror guys. Where's the 3L PHEV? BMW and...
