It was an LH derivative with E and S class suspensions and NAG1 transmission adapted from the Merc parts bin. It was not "an old e class platform" but you can't blame them for allowing that narrative to run wild. Also the 2011 refresh removed the Merc suspensions and the 2015 refresh removed...
Obviously they had to switch things around to allow BEV but what about the Hurricane cars? The BEV charger looks like a current challenger with new bodywork - I'd like to know what they actually upgraded
Tavares has done such a poor job of course this would be his solution so quickly. The board is going to fire this clown in 3-2-1..... RIP stock holders too
The problem is that the average Joe will think its going to be EV only and now its going to cost Dodge a bazillion dollars in advertising to tell average Joe that you can buy it with a Hurricane six pak as well. Would be much easier to debut both at the same time or if I had to pick one, the...
I'd maybe consider the EV one once it gets a solid state battery and there is better charging infrastructure, until then its not going to sell very well.
Dodge uses what they have, they have never, in 30 years made a specific V8 gas for the trucks. I believe the 3.7 TT I6. They have a 3.0L with 560hp, I dont think they're afraid of using a version for the 2500/3500 gasser trucks. That 3.7 block would also end up in the charger SRT ala 6.4 SRT...
Covid hangover that they're hoping to hang onto (produce less vehicles and over price them / gouge customers) but go look at inventory levels and how everything is down 40-50% sales wise lol
He's been a useless CEO. People were expecting another Marchionne, not this guy that does nothing. He's just living off what Sergio set up - brand CEO's, all he's "doing" is monitoring them - when any single one of them could do a much better job than he is. He rode coattails at Nissan too
They need a gas option for their HD trucks and that's all they have to work with so I believe it, wires may have been crossed with what cummins is working on, but seeing how poorly their 5.0L did with Nissan and the cranks breaking - Chrysler would be wise to just do it in house. The prior HD...
They're making a mistake by launching the gas versions after the EV. Months later most will have forgotten they're even available (casual shopper) and A LOT of casual shoppers buy chargers and challengers
I agree on the low take rate for these, and the banshee will indeed be crazy quick but they need bread and butter cool like they had with the current charger and challenger and the sales volume that came with that. They better be leaving "some gas in the tank" to switch things around once a...
I said it would be a disaster trying to do 15-25,000 cars in a small Florida shop, seems its going according to plan. I'd like to know what they're telling people that ordered one
