Stellantis looks to cut 3500 US hourly/skilled trade positions

Both (still) have far more headcount than STLA.

Stellantis looks to cut 3500 US hourly/skilled trade positions

10% or 12% EBIT is more than enough to run a company selling cars at a fair price, with enough left over for reinvestment and paying out defined benefit contributions. There’s a difference between moving metal at any cost and gouging. What is happening now is closer to gouging. All we are...

Stellantis looks to cut 3500 US hourly/skilled trade positions

Chrysler-parent Stellantis looks to trim around 3,500 hourly U.S. jobs -union letter I was right, from the very beginning. They are trying to destroy this company (again).

    2024 Ram Mid-Cycle-Action (MCA = Refresh)

The Ram 1500 should receive a MCA refresh for the 2024 Model Year. My guess is that 2024 builds will start later, in November/December. The 2024 Wrangler MCA is similar in that production will start in November/December. I really liked the new screen on the Wrangler. It's still overpriced, but...

    New EPA Rules

The Ram would sooner receive a 2nd generation of its eTorque mild hybrid implementation with a 7.5Kw or 10Kw battery vs. that of 15-20Kw PHEV battery. Packaging for body on frame pickups makes things more challenging vs. unibody.

    New EPA Rules

Biden looks to boost EV sales with plan to cut vehicle emissions This sentence doesn't make sense - "The Biden administration is not proposing banning gasoline-powered vehicles, but wants comments on whether it should extend emissions rules through 2035 and on other alternatives." What if...

2023-Q1 STLA US sales down 9% YoY, Jeep down -20%

Be sure to vote as if your automotive sovereignty depends on it, because it does.

2023-Q1 STLA US sales down 9% YoY, Jeep down -20%

If Dodge fans don’t find the allure of the Hurricane + AWD and by proxy the Charger/Challenger now being a four season vehicle value prop meeting or exceeding the value prop of a Hemi, then Dodge is dead. It’s that simple. Spoiler - Dodge is dead. 90% of Dodge fans don’t care that the next...

2023-Q1 STLA US sales down 9% YoY, Jeep down -20%

FCA Reports First-quarter 2023 US Sales - Stellantis (NYSE:STLA) Are you ready for a month long shutdown at Toledo, Jefferson 1 and 2, SHAP, and WTAP during the summer? Because that's what's coming. Remember - this is 100% on Tavares and the yes-men at CTC.

Tavares Says Electric Vehicles Cost 40% More To Manufacture

Avenger is B-segment? Weird, I thought it was C.

Tavares Says Electric Vehicles Cost 40% More To Manufacture

Why is the real-world range of the Avenger being argued about? Aren't there owner forums where the truth is already discerned at this point? I agree with DC that any EV that STLA has available for sale today is not really competitive, relative to the EV competition in Europe.

Tavares Says Electric Vehicles Cost 40% More To Manufacture

No one is making any money on EVs, in any on region on earth, except BYD and Tesla. From a P&L standpoint, I would venture to wager that Tesla Europe is in the single digit percentage negative gross margin operating range, and is largely saved by Tesla Shanghai exports to Europe (which are very...

Bring on the Chinese vehicles, these OEMs are gangsters. Toyota is the only company with any semblance of sanity at this point.

Jeep prices are out of control / it's going to be Daimler all over again

Decided to swing by the local dealership and take the 2023 Compass (which now has the 2L engine) for a spin - $37K on the Monroney sticker for a 2023 Compass Limited. LMAO, they are out of their minds. Do you see what's happening yet? First they overprice the vehicles. Then they start cutting...

Tavares Says Electric Vehicles Cost 40% More To Manufacture

The OEMs you've referenced don't care about anything smaller than C-segment for EVs. It's literally the last priority. All the halo models have been converted to EVs, for the OEMs you've mentioned. Those took priority.

Tavares Says Electric Vehicles Cost 40% More To Manufacture

What’s up with EVs based on STLA small and medium? If EVs based on STLA Small and Medium are based on CMP today, when is Gen2 that is a clean sheet design and totally scraps CMP, coming out?

Tavares Says Electric Vehicles Cost 40% More To Manufacture

Two of those years were Covid supply chain madness when people had more money than sense because they couldn't travel, and decided to overpay by $15K for their vehicle. Reality is what you’re seeing now. Completely deflated sales. JK Rubicons were in the upper 40s.
