FIRST DRIVE: 2026 Dodge Charger SIXPACK Scat Pack Two-Door

FIRST DRIVE: 2026 Dodge Charger SIXPACK Scat Pack Two-Door

A Turbocharged Comeback On One Of America's Wildest Roads

The turbocharged era is officially back, and Dodge is finally embracing it with all the confidence of a brand that once dominated boosted performance in America. People often forget that Dodge wasn’t always about big, naturally aspirated HEMI® V8s. There was a time when Dodge owned the turbo game — Omni GLHS, Shelby Charger, Daytona IROC R/T, Spirit R/T, Stealth R/T Twin Turbo, Neon SRT-4, and Caliber SRT-4. The list is long, and the legacy is real.

Outstanding video. It was almost like a personal test drive. Thanks.
I’m hot and heavy over the Six Pack and can’t wait to test it. I think it is a real piece of engineering and design achievement and I agree, even with a Hemi option, this is the way to go.
Giving us the negatives as well as positives speaks to good reporting and valid insights, some which (no dip stick) most would never notice. The driving evaluation and your deep knowledge of testing cars was outstanding and so useful. I thought you were perfect in your presentation to the “average guy”.
I’m looking for a two door R/T Plus with all the goodies since go fast is not paramount but reliability and comfort now is my prime concern. Hope you put an R/T through a extensive test, since that will carry much weight for me. Great job Robert.

You killing me with this review....... I just prefer to wait for the ZF with a motor and 4 door Cat3.......

The haptic dashboard buttons and the door exit button are future reliability and safety issues especially the exit button.

Give me a break. This system is going industry wide and is like any other innovation, susceptible to issues, but really, not likely. Talk about inventing criticisms, your obviously picking for straws here. This Charger is in a class with BMW and Audi, I know, I have long term personal experience with both. At a lower price point and perhaps minor cost cutting realities like the thickness of the door shelves , this Charger is an amazing product and an amazing value. Could you knit pick this car to death, sure, but be fair, it sets a new standard for Dodge and we should applaud everyone at Dodge for delivering it. I am willing to put myself out there in this response, having not driven this Charger, but even on the video it’s obvious, this is a whole new chapter for the Dodge brand. Now, in fairness, let’s everyone test the car. I will.

You apparently haven’t been locked out of your Challenger trunk when the battery dies or weakens.
And talking about Audi, tell me why they reverted back to physical buttons with their updates?
And yes, I had multiple Audi and VW from 2020.

Dodge’s Passion Fuels the 2026 Charger SIXPACK Scat Pack

A Deep Look at the new Charger Straight from the Team Who Built It

Earlier this week, Dodge invited me down to drive the new 2026 Dodge Charger SIXPACK Scat Pack in the beautiful Great Smoky Mountains of Tennessee. Before we ever spent a single mile behind the wheel of the new gasoline-powered, twin-turbo Charger, Dodge sat us down for an in-depth discussion about how this car came to be. And right away, one thing was impossible to miss—the Dodge executive team is truly passionate about the eighth-generation Charger.

They have an emergency door opening handle. I agree, an emergency pull in the trunk is a necessity. Would I sell my Challenger because of that issue, you know the answer. 392, all I’m saying is, and I hope you agree, the Dodge team has done wonders here, give this Charger a fair look and if it plays out as I see it, give credit to the team for raising the Dodge brand a couple of notches up in a very challenging environment of incompetence and intimidation. I even must be grudgingly impressed with the flawed Daytona, if and when they work out the bugs. Maybe even a hybrid in the mix soon. Just saying.
If I drive it and it disappoints, I’ll eat crow. I put my cards on the table here.
On this one, I’ll call you and raise you one Mopar.

To say that I am excited about the the 8th Gen Charger would be a huge understatement. I've been behind the wheel of the Daytona six pack and I fell in love this new platform even from just experiencing what that car felt like. While the ICE versions will definitely lack the power. I'm overly impressed by all of the videos I've seen of this on social media and I am lining up to get one around this time next year. As I said before, for me, it will more than likely be an R/T version with the 420hp 3.0L Hurricane Standard Output with the hopes that Direct Connection will be overly supportive of both models. Overall, I think the Charger is a job well done by the team at Dodge and I look forward to the day when I will have one parked in front of my house, which will be my third Charger.
