COLLECTORS: Hot Wheels RLC sELECTORs 1969 Dodge Charger R/T Diecast:

This Is One Limited Edition 1:64 That May Be Harder To Get Than Most...

We have a lot of readers out there who are avid collectors of various diecast models. Once in a while, they will shoot us an e-mail about an upcoming Mopar-related special edition diecast or something of that nature that will spark our interest. However, recently, there was one special edition released diecast car from the Hot Wheels Red Line Club that we didn’t hear about until availability was over.

Now, if you aren’t familiar with the Hot Wheels “Red Line Club” or RLC, allows collectors to get early and/or exclusive access to certain Hot Wheels products, voting rights to help pick future Hot Wheels builds, special members-only forums, and insight on behind the scenes content. The membership costs $9.99 USD a year and during that time, Hot Wheels will usually release a unique limited production run of a certain diecast in which members can purchase.

This year, the Hot Wheels crew decided to release not one but two limited production diecasts for RLC members. The second vehicle chosen by it’s RLC members was a 1969 Dodge Charger R/T with a unique Spectraflame purple exterior color. While that is enough to excite most Mopar fans, it’s the detail that is put into the special edition diecast that amazes us.

It won’t take long for diehard Mopar fans to notice the “Hellephant” logo over the rear white stripes. Under the liftable hood, Hot Wheels installed a casting of the 7.0-liter (426 cubic-inch) HEMI V8 with its 3.0-liter supercharger fixed atop. There is even HEMI Orange accents to the engine itself, for that added detail. The car also featured a set of “Real Riders” turbine wheels.

Unfortuately, ordering for the car was only available from Tuesday, July 13th to Thursday, July 15th. Each car was priced at $24.99 USD and were only available for purchase by members of the RLC. The good news is that Hot Wheels produced quanities to match the number of orders it recieved. How is that good? Well, orders could only be placed by RLC members but there was no limit in how many cars they could order.

Although the cars won’t be sent to their new orders for several months, we are sure there will be some floating around on auction sites like eBay!, Facebook Marketplace, and others after they arrive.

Nevertheless, this RLC sELECTIONs diecast will be a true collectable for those who are Hot Wheels or diecast collectors. To see more you can visit HotWheels.com
