Chrysler Pacifica Earns TOP SAFETY PICK in Latest IIHS Testing

Chrysler Continues To Improve On Its Overall Score...

The latest accolade bestowed upon the 2023-2024 Chrysler Pacifica is one that underscores its commitment to safety: the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) has granted it the esteemed TOP SAFETY PICK award.

This recognition comes as a result of the Pacifica’s stellar performance in a series of rigorous IIHS tests. A testament to its structural integrity, the Pacifica secured the highest rating of ‘Good’ across critical crash simulations, including driver-side and passenger-side small overlap frontal impacts, as well as moderate overlap frontal impacts. The vehicle’s robust body structure, incorporating various steel grades, notably Advanced High-strength and Ultra-high strength materials, played a pivotal role in achieving these exceptional results.

A pivotal aspect contributing to this safety accolade is the Pacifica’s comprehensive suite of safety and security features. Boasting an impressive array of 97 standard-equipment safety features, including Pedestrian Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB), the Pacifica offers not only peace of mind but also aligns with the stringent criteria set by the IIHS for their safety awards.

Crucially, the IIHS’s revised rating system places significant emphasis on Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) and headlight functionality. The Pacifica rises to meet these criteria with LED headlamps as standard equipment, complemented by daytime running lamps, fog lamps, and taillamps, all benefiting from cutting-edge LED technology. This not only ensures a balanced beam of light but also minimizes glare for oncoming traffic, further enhancing overall safety on the road.

Moreover, the Pacifica’s value proposition extends beyond its safety features. It stands as North America’s exclusive minivan equipped with second-row Stow ‘n Go seating, offering unparalleled fold-in-the-floor convenience. Additionally, the availability of all-wheel-drive (AWD) accentuates its versatility, catering to varying driving conditions and preferences.

The package delivers the superior level of driving confidence consumers want and deserve.”

I really have never understood why this is not hammered home in marketing. Suburu has done this to the degree most think they and Volvo are the safety cars. If anything in the last six years have we learned - if you continue to make confident statements about something - irrespective of the truth - the result will be the perceived truth.

Chrysler as a small market player of BEV and advanced technology vehicles could pair well with making the passenger vehicle experience safe and ahead of the pack - we are leading while other follow and get out of the way.

I am completely convinced the brand will be phased out inside of four years. Why spend money on marketing?
