Last year, Jeep® rolled out a revised Cherokee that featured updated styling, a new powertrain, and some impressive new technology features. Sales soared with the refreshed 2019 Jeep Cherokee and the brand is looking to continue the vehicle’s success into 2020 with some new features and the same great lineup offerings.
The Jeep Cherokee returns with five core trim levels, Latitude, Latitude Plus, Limited, Overland, and Trailhawk. All models except for the Trail Rated Trailhawk model which comes standard with four-wheel-drive (4×4), offer front-wheel-drive (4×2) or 4×4 offerings. The 2020 Jeep Cherokee a new Advanced Safety Group package that includes Lane Departure Warning-Plus, Forward Collision Warning-Plus, and rain-sensing wipers, the same features that made the 2019 Jeep Cherokee a Top Safety Pick rating from Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS). This package will be available on Latitude, Latitude Plus, Limited, and Overland models.
Cherokee models equipped with the popular 8.4-inch Uconnect 4C and 4C with Navigation units will now be equipped with Alexa Skill Technology.
Buyers will be able to choose from three engine options, the 2.4-liter “Tigershark” inline-four-cylinder, the 3.6-liter “Pentastar” V6, or the 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-four-cylinder. The 2.4-liter produces 180 horsepower and 170 lb.-ft. of torque and is equipped with engine stop-start (ESS) technology and is standard on Latitude, Latitude Plus, and Limited models.
The award-winning 3.6-liter “Pentastar” V6 is standard on Upland, Trailhawk, and Overland models, while being optional on Latitude, Latitude Plus, and Altitude models. The V6 engine with ESS technology delivers 271 horsepower and 239 lb.-ft. of torque and best-in-class towing capability of 4,500 lbs. But our choice is the turbocharged 2.0-liter. The turbo-four makes 270 horsepower and 295 lb.-ft. of torque equipped with ESS and is a perfect match for the mid-size Cherokee. The 2.0-liter is optional on Latitude Plus, Altitude, Limited, Trailhawk, High-Altitude, and Overland models.
All engines are paired with a ZF-sourced 9-speed automatic transmission.

There are 12 available exterior colors for the 2020 Jeep Cherokee. Those colors include Billet Silver, Blue Shade, Bright White, Diamond Black Crystal, Granite Crystal, Hydro Blue, Light Brownstone, Olive Green, Sangria, Spitfire Orange, Sting-Grey, and Velvet Red.
