Check Out This Custom Carbon-Fiber-Bodied Cuda Hellcat Redeye
Car Is Going To Auction At Mecum Kissimmee In January...
The modern muscle car resurgence of Mopar excluded the Plymouth division, which DaimlerChrysler ceased operations in 2001. As a result, enthusiasts had years to enjoy high-powered versions of the retro-styled Dodge Challenger, Charger, and Chrysler 300, leaving its original E-Body sibling a piece of history.
The 2022 Dodge Challenger SRT HELLCAT Redeye stands as an example of what might have been. It boasts a custom carbon-fiber body reminiscent of the classic Cuda. It is meticulously crafted with pre-preg carbon-fiber panels cured in an autoclave and adorned with the iconic Cuda grille. The body is finished in a four-stage candy translucent purple paint, complemented by CNC-machined billet 6061 aluminum trim hinges and grille components.
Beneath the hood resides a 797-horsepower supercharged 6.2-liter (370 cubic-inch) HEMI® HELLCAT H.O. V8 engine. Inherited features from the limited-edition 2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon, such as the SRT Power Chiller, a high-strength steel prop shaft, and 41-spline half-shafts, contribute to its prowess. Dodge claims the Redeye can sprint from 0 to 60 mph in 3.4 seconds and conquer a quarter-mile in 10.8 seconds—a testament to its high-shifting 8-speed TorqueFlite automatic transmission.
Displayed at the Hotchkiss booth during the 2022 Specialty Equipment Marketing Association (SEMA) Show, this custom muscle coupe from the Ken Tatarow Collection received a lowering kit and sway bars from a suspension tuning company. It rides on 2-piece forged billet Boze wheels—20×10 inches in the front and 20×12 inches in the rear—wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport 285/35R20 front and 335/30R20 rear tires.
The upgraded leather interior features custom carbon fiber trim on the suede-wrapped door panels, accentuated by custom lighting in the doors and center console. A headliner with a HELLCAT logo rendered in fiber optic lights adds a unique touch. For audiophiles, there’s a custom 1500-watt Focal stereo system.
With its distinctive presentation and exceptional HELLCAT Redeye performance, this custom Challenger pays homage to the classic Cuda. Scheduled to cross the Mecum Kissimmee auction block on Saturday, January 13th, it stands as a fitting tribute to the legendary Cuda.
