CAUGHT: 2020 Dodge Charger SRT HELLCAT Redeye On The Street:

797 Horsepower Sedan Shows Its Face For The First Time...

You might remember in May of last year, we broke the news that the Dodge//SRT brand would be releasing a 797 horsepower version of its 2020 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat Widebody. Earlier this afternoon, our spy photographers happened to catch a production-spec 2020 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat Redeye Widebody on the streets of Metro Detroit testing. Its the first solid proof, that such a vehicle exists.

In late June of last year, at the unveiling of the 2020 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat Widebody at the FCA What’s New event at the Chelsea Proving Grounds, Tim Kuniskis, Global Head of Alfa Romeo and Head of Passenger Cars – Dodge, SRT, Chrysler and FIAT, FCA – North America stated, “(Dodge fans) quickly noticed that the scales were tipped in the favor of the Challenger and not as much in favor of the Charger. So today is step one in rectifying that”. The 2020 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat Redeye Widebody will be step two in the process of making Charger fans happy.

This IndiGo Blue prototype shows us our first look at the Charger SRT Hellcat Redeye specific hood, which we should you a photoshop rendering back in May of last year. Our sources have been telling us that the 2020 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat Redeye Widebody, to be very similar in looks to its Hellcat Widebody sibling. The biggest difference between the two cars will be the Redeye’s hood design. The Redeye will get a hood that features a bigger intake that will feed directly into the Demon-styled cold air intake, as well as newly designed heat extractors that run up the hood and closer to the windshield (as pictured in the rendering below).

While our sources haven’t said anything about where the car would be unveiled, the most logical guess would be at the SoCalLX Spring Fest 15. Last year, Dodge//SRT showed off their “concept” version of the Charger SRT Hellcat Widebody there and the brand has been known to show off several new concepts as well as other future ideas there in the past. The Spring Fest 15 posters have teased a new Dodge Charger with Demon-like hood, which could be a concept version of the new Charger SRT Hellcat Redeye. Guess we will find out at Spring Fest on the 20th and 21st.
