Jeep® Has Introduced Europe To Its All-New Grand Cherokee 4xe!

Europe Will Only Get The Plug-In Hybrid Model...

The all-new Jeep® Grand Cherokee 4xe has officially launched in Europe. Earlier today, Jeep share details about the Grand Cherokee’s lineup for the European Union (E.U.) and opened up orders for the countries of Italy, France, Germany, Spain, Austria, Belgium, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, and the United Kingdom. This also included a special launch edition offering for those who pre-order their vehicle early.

As the E.U. continues to push forward with its adoption of electrification in the mobility sector, Jeep will only be offering the Grand Cherokee (WL74) in its 4xe plug-in hybrid (PHEV) configuration. That is right, no more Pentastar or HEMI offerings in Europe. Instead, all Grand Cherokee 4xe models are powered by a propulsion system that combines two electric motors, a 400-volt battery pack, a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine, and TorqueFlite 8-speed automatic transmission for maximum efficiency and capability. Overall, the 4xe system delivers 375 horsepower (280 kW) and 470 lb.-ft. (637 N•m) of torque.

The application of 4xe PHEV technology to the Jeep Grand Cherokee gives the brand’s flagship benchmark off-road capabilities, courtesy of the instantaneous availability of torque performance, guaranteed by the combination of the two propulsions, turbocharged internal combustion engine (ICE) and electric, and of course the option to drive with zero CO2 emissions.

Equipped with state-of-the-art systems, the Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe has been designed in its entirety to offer unparalleled off-road capabilities and safe driving dynamics. The Quadra-Drive II 4×4 drive systems, Quadra-Lift air suspension, and the Selec-Terrain traction management system – offering a choice among five driving modes: Auto, Snow, Sand/Mud, Rock, and Sport – ensure the Grand Cherokee 4xe retains the Jeep brand’s legendary 4×4 capabilities.

Launch Edition –

Kicking off the Grand Cherokee 4xe’s launch in the E.U. is the “Launch Edition”. It isn’t so much a special edition model, as it is a top-of-the-line Grand Cherokee Summit Reserve 4xe with a few additional accessories to make the ownership of the 4xe more pleasurable. Those additional accessories include…

  • Mopar Grand Cherokee (WL74) Car Cover – Included in the Exclusive Launch Edition offer, the Mopar indoor car cover is the perfect protection for cars parked in garages or in sheltered places. The material is elastic, breathable, antistatic, and anti-condensation.
  • Easy Wallbox Level 2 Charger – Easily charge the new Grand Cherokee 4xe at home with the new Easy Wallbox, included in the Exclusive Launch Edition offer. Its intelligent system reduces charging times and adapts the charging power according to the energy consumption of the customer’s home.
  • Mode 3 Cable & Reel – Charge the new Grand Cherokee 4xe Exclusive Launch Edition wherever the customer is. Thanks to the Mode 3 cable, the customer can fill up your Jeep® 4xe PHEV with energy at any public charging station in the EU. In addition, with the dedicated reel, the customer can always keep the cables in order in the trunk of their SUV.
  • Extended Coverage of Warranty and Maintenance – Safety and security always come first. For this the customer can count on a 3-year warranty extension with Mopar® and 3-year maintenance with Jeep Wave®, all included in the Exclusive Launch Edition. In addition, the owner will receive their personal Free2Move e-mobility card that will allow the customer to easily pay for each top-up. Included in the offer are 3 years of public charging (up to 3000 km or 1,864 miles).

As we said, the launch edition will consist of Grand Cherokee Summit Reserve 4xe. The Summit Reserve 4xe comes standard with lightweight 21-inch polished aluminum wheels, for the first time ever on a Grand Cherokee and help to enhance the broader track, while a Diamond Black roof works in contrast with the bodywork and defines its lowered line, and emphasizes the rear spoilers on the vertical pillar.

Craftsmanship and functional beauty are also the basis for the interior, the standout features of which include walnut accents and door/seat upholstery in Palermo leather. The driver and passenger seats can be electrically adjusted into 16 positions, are equipped with lumbar support and memory function, and also offer a massage function built into the backrest. The rear seats are also heated and ventilated.

The front fascia houses the new, slimmer vents of the air conditioning system – with four zones, to guarantee exceptional comfort for all passengers, a new center console, wireless phone charging, and 10-inch digital screens (for the digital instrument panel and radio touchscreen), as well as an exclusive 10.25-inch interactive display for the passenger in front. The Grand Cherokee Summit Reserve 4xe Launch Edition also offers the 950-watt McIntosh sound system with 19 speakers. One of the finest in the world, it uses the same technology as McIntosh home systems. The magnets and coils in the speakers produce a unique sound, without even a hint of distortion or lower quality. To create an environment tailored to your taste, the real innovation is the full suite of customizable interior LED lights with day/night settings and an ambient lighting system with the option to choose between five colors.

The Grand Cherokee Summit Reserve 4xe sports more high-tech specifications than it ever has. As standard, the Launch Edition comes with a new Level 2 (L2) Active Driving Assist – with which drivers still need to keep their hands on the steering wheel and eyes on the road – the new 10-inch color Head-Up Display (HUD) in the windscreen, an exclusive screen for the front passenger for navigation, camera image display, and entertainment, and the new digital rear mirror. Also fitted are full-LED headlamps and Parallel and Perpendicular Park Assist, which makes parking maneuvers much simpler, plus a night vision camera and full-speed forward collision warning with pedestrian and cyclist detection.

For those looking to order a launch edition model, a dedicated website for each country that the pre-ordering has opened for will be available on their countries-specific Jeep website homepage. The ordering is open from today, February 17th, 2022 to Wednesday, March 30th, 2022. The site is the only way to order one of those vehicles and will walk the customer through the ordering process.

Jeep has yet to release what particular models the Grand Cherokee 4xe lineup will consist of. Press photos show the Overland 4xe in the background in several shots, suggesting it will be part of the lineup too.

This Grand Cherokee is a MASTERPIECE.

Manley has done a very good job with Jeep (Maybe the Grand Cherokee is a Marchionne’s job), and a very bad job for the rest.
