Auto World Shrinks Mr. Norm’s Supercharged 1972 Demon GSS
The First “Not Sorry” Demon Now Hits Shelves In 1:18 Scale

Auto World is back at it again—this time with one of the most iconic “Day Two” Mopars to ever hit the auction block. Mopar diecast collectors, get ready, because Auto World’s newest 1:18 scale release is a jaw-dropping replica of the legendary 1972 Dodge Demon 340 GSS, built by none other than Mr. Norm’s Grand Spaulding Dodge.

This exact car turned heads at Mecum’s 2022 Indianapolis Auction, where it sold for an incredible $165,000. Now, Auto World has faithfully recreated it in stunning detail, down to every last stripe, scoop, and supercharger. Slated to drop in August 2025, this replica (item #AMM1344) is a must-have for anyone who appreciates Mopar history.
So, what makes this Demon so special?

This was no off-the-lot Dodge. It’s the only known 1972 Demon 340 GSS finished in factory TB3 “Petty Blue”, and it came equipped with a rare, NOS Paxton supercharger bolted to a date-code-correct 5.6-liter (340 cubic-inch) LA V8. That setup bumped output to a thumping 360 horsepower, paired with a Torqueflite automatic transmission and backed by factory power steering and brakes.
Auto World’s replica nails the look—from the twin-snorkel hood and black hood accents, to the Demon 340 badging, bucket seat interior, and hood-mounted Dixco tach. They even included Rallye wheels with Goodyear Polyglas F70-14 white-letter tires, just like the original. Inside, the black interior with center console, sport steering wheel, and wood-knob shifter are all recreated with laser-precision.

This real-life Demon wasn’t just some backlot build—it was signed by Mr. Norm himself in 2005, scored a 97.5 at Mopar Weekend 2006, and a 99.5 with the Chicagoland Mopar Connection. It’s been featured in numerous magazines and is widely considered the first “supercharged” Demon, long before Dodge reintroduced the name in 2018.
And now, thanks to Auto World, you don’t need $165K to own it—just enough space on your shelf. Available at autoworldstore.com and select hobby shops starting this month.
