AUCTION: This Beautiful 1970 Dodge Charger HEMI R/T Will Go To Auction In March!

One of the most iconic cars during the “muscle car” era, has to be the Dodge Charger. Dodge’s B-body coupe was the star of several car-related television shows and movies and is easily one of the most recognized vehicles of the period. Whilst we have seen some awesome resto-rod Dodge Charger builds over the past couple of years, there are some that prefer their cars to have that same look and appeal as they did when they rolled off of the assembly line.

This 1970 Dodge Charger HEMI R/T is a beautiful example of one of those cars. Painted in the handsome Dark Green Metallic (also known as F8 Green) this car has its own unique look, thanks to the deletion of the iconic black vinyl top, painted HEMI hood decals, R/T door scoops, and black “Scat Pack” stripe wrapped around the vehicle’s rear quarters. The exterior showcases HEMI quarter tags, script Charger emblems, chrome exhaust tips, a flip-open fuel cap, and the legacy second-generation styling that ended with this model. The car even wears a set of Rallye wheels.

According to the seller, during the life of the car, someone damaged the factory-installed block. The car instead comes with a warranty replacement Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) 7.0-liter (426 cubic-inch) HEMI block with matching heads, matching heads, carburetors, and exhaust manifolds. But under the hood right now, is a John Arruzza-built 8.3-liter (511 cubic-inch) HEMI Stroker V8 producing 650 horsepower. The engine has been detailed to look like it was factory-installed. The OEM air cleaner, power brake booster, 26-inch radiator, and original-patina windshield washer reservoir are all here, with polished headers are the only details that give it away that this isn’t the original engine from the factory.

This example was just 1 of 56 in 1970, to feature an A833 4-speed manual transmission when it came off the line. Like the engine though, it has been replaced with a Passion 5-speed manual transmission featuring the iconic pistol-grip shifter with power is sent through a Dana 60 differential. The suspension has also been rebuilt both front and rear.

According to the seller, there are only 36,000 miles on the vehicle.

Inside, there are black vinyl bucket seats, wood-grain dash, wood-grain sport steering wheel, and Rallye package gauges (including the iconic Tic-Toc-Tach). Forget listening to a modern stereo system, this Charger continues to feature its factory-equipped AM/8-Track stereo.
