A unique piece of automotive history is now available on BringATrailer.com. This custom-built 1934 Dodge KC-series half-ton pickup, meticulously crafted by the seller over a decade from 2012 to 2022, is up for auction, offering a blend of vintage style and modern performance.
The pickup rides on a high-quality Progressive Automotive chassis, providing a solid foundation for the build. Powering this classic is a 5.3-liter (325 cubic-inch) Red Ram HEMI® V8 engine, a nod to Dodge’s storied performance heritage. This engine, dating back to 1957, was thoroughly disassembled and inspected before being installed, ensuring it performs as expected.
A host of body modifications enhance the truck’s classic appearance. The roof has been chopped and filled, giving it a sleek, custom look, while the running boards have been fabricated with stainless-steel treads for added durability and style. The MAR-K bed has been upgraded with a roll pan and a louvered tailgate, and the truck also features rear fenders from a 1931 Ford truck, showcasing a blend of different eras of automotive design. Additional exterior touches include louvered headlight buckets from a 1937 Chevrolet, a tilt-out windshield, a louvered windshield visor, shaved door handles, and a replacement standard grille insert.
The truck stands out on chrome 15-inch artillery-style wheels, which are paired with BFGoodrich Silvertown Radial front tires and Firestone Dragster cheater slick rear tires. The suspension system is equally impressive, featuring Total Cost Involved (TCI) stainless-steel control arms at the front, Pete and Jake’s chrome ladder bars at the back, and adjustable coilovers all around. The truck is equipped with rack-and-pinion steering and front disc brakes for improved handling, ensuring a smooth and controlled ride.
Inside the cabin, the truck continues to impress with its custom features. The roof, bulkhead, floorboards, and transmission cover are all crafted from riveted aluminum, adding a rugged, industrial feel. The Rotten Larry bucket seats are upholstered in diamond-quilted black leather, which extends to the floor mats and map pockets for a cohesive look. Additional interior highlights include a pistol-grip shifter, a custom steering wheel, and a LimeWorks steering column.
The dashboard is equipped with an engine-turned instrument panel featuring Stewart-Warner gauges, including an 8k-rpm tachometer and a 160-mph speedometer. The five-digit odometer shows just 1,250 miles, indicating the minimal use the truck has seen since its completion.
The heart of this custom pickup, the 325 cubic-inch Red Ram HEMI V8, is equipped with custom intake manifolds and four Stromberg 97 two-barrel carburetors. Braided stainless-steel fuel lines, blue AN fittings, an aluminum radiator, and ribbed valve covers with matching carburetor air intake scoops enhance the engine’s performance.
Power is delivered to the rear wheels through a rebuilt GM 700R4 four-speed automatic transmission, paired with a Winters Performance quick-change rear end, ensuring both reliability and performance.
This extraordinary 1934 Dodge Pickup, combining vintage aesthetics with modern engineering, is auctioning on BringATrailer.com. Bidding ends on Wednesday, May 29, at 5:39 p.m. EDT. Don’t miss the chance to own a unique classic that stands out on the road.
