AUCTION: 27,500-Mile 2004 Dodge Ram SRT-10 ‘VCA’ Edition:

With 500 horsepower and 525 lb.-ft. of torque on tap, the 2004 Dodge Ram SRT-10 was the ultimate performance truck in the mid-2000s. In today’s market, the SRT-10 has become a highly sought collectible.

Of those trucks sold between 2004 to 2006, the rarest is the 2004 Dodge Ram SRT-10 special edition built for members of the Viper Club of America (VCA). Only 50 examples were ever built, each painted in the handsome combination of Electric Blue exterior paint and Bold White stripes. Dubbed the ‘VCA Edition’ or ‘Wolfgang’ Edition, the trucks featured a serialized decal on the center console with then COO of the Chrysler Group, Wolfgang Bernhard’s signature, as well as the engine intake.

For those of the VCA who wished to purchase one of the trucks, their names were placed in a drawing and selected at random by Dodge. Those who were lucky enough to be chosen had their truck presented to them at Daytona International Speedway in February 2004, just before the start of the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race, where one of those trucks was used as an official pace truck for the race.

Besides the special paint scheme, the trucks also featured unique VCA graphics at the rear of the pickup box. Each truck featured Ram SRT-10’s unique front air dam with integrated fog lights, a domed hood with integrated scoop, lower body cladding, heated mirrors, an SRT-specific rear spoiler, and polished 22-inch aluminum wheels.

This particular truck is currently up for auction on BringATrailer.com and is #24 out of the 50 units produced. With just over 27,500 miles on the odometer, it’s hard to think that the truck is almost 20 years old. 

Inside, the truck features bolstered seats upholstered in Dark Slate Gray leather with synthetic suede inserts and embroidered ‘SRT-10’ logos on the headrests. The dash and door panels are done in Silver-color trim. Among the amenities are a power-adjustable driver’s seat, air conditioning, cruise control, push-button start, metal pedal covers, supplemental side-curtain airbags, a Hurst shifter, and an Infinity sound system with a subwoofer and a 6-CD changer. 

There is also a pair of blue-trimmed embroidered SRT floor mats exclusive to the ‘Wolfgang’ Edition trucks.

According to the listing, the truck spent its life in Florida, Illinois, and Missouri, and is now located in Washington state. The truck comes with its manufacturer’s literature, an accident-free Carfax report, and a clean Washington title in the seller’s name.
