The second-generation Ram (BR) series trucks are special in many enthusiasts’ hearts. Not only did the truck mark a revolutionary direction in design for Chrysler Corporation, but it brought Ram to the forefront of the pickup truck market. Today, the trucks that remain in excellent condition and feature low mileage are highly sought after by collectors.
While browsing the popular automotive auction site BringATrailer.com, we stumbled upon this stunning 1997 Dodge Ram 3500 Laramie SLT Club Cab Dually 4×4. Powered by a 5.9-liter Cummins turbodiesel inline-six, this Bright White (PW7) example only has 39,540 original miles on the odometer.
The truck features a four-speed automatic transmission, dual-range transfer case, Dana 60 front axle, and Dana 80 limited-slip rear axle with a 4:10 gear ratio for a smooth and powerful ride. It also boasts various desirable features, including electric windows and locks, cruise control, air conditioning, a trailer brake controller, and an AM/FM cassette stereo with a CD changer.
The vehicle’s exterior is just as impressive, with chrome bumpers, tubular side steps, a Rhino Linings bed liner, and a backup camera. Additionally, it has a receiver hitch, a gooseneck hitch, and clearance lights that add to the truck’s functionality. The tailgate has a few scratches and a dent, but the truck is in pretty great shape considering its age.
The cabin is covered in gray cloth and has woodgrain trim, a 40/20/40 split bench seat, a folding rear bench seat, and pop-out rear windows. The WeatherTech rubber floor mats are also a nice touch and help ensure a clean cabin.
The original window sticker shows initial delivery to Emich Dodge of Littleton, Colorado, factory colors, equipment, and a total price of $35,035. Now, those were the days!
According to the listing, the timing gear dowel pin, serpentine belt, filters, and oil have been replaced under the current ownership. However, with a clean Carfax report and low mileage, collectors and enthusiasts will have an excellent opportunity to bid on this classic Ram workhorse until Wednesday, April 26th, at 2:38 p.m. EST.
