Alfa Romeo Launches New “GT Junior” Limited Edition For Giulia & Stelvio Models!
Follows Success Of Latest Limited Edition Alfa Romeo Models...
Last week, Alfa Romeo pulled the covers off of a duo of new limited edition models for its popular Giulia and Stelvio models. The new Giulia and Stelvio GT Junior limited-edition models are inspired by the iconic 1960s GT 1300. The new limited-edition trio builds upon the brand’s success with the launch of the very limited edition 2021 Alfa Romeo Giulia GTA & GTAm and the Giulia and Stelvio ‘6C Villa d’Este’ editions.
These limited-edition models are inspired by one of the brand’s most iconic models, the 1966 to 1976 GT 1300 Junior. The GT 1300 Junior sold nearly 100,000 units during its 10-year production run. That car was based on the Giulia Sprint GT, which featured a Bertone-designed body and an 89 horsepower engine. The lightweight sporty Alfa proved to bring the spirited Italian driving experience back into the hands of many owners. It was no coincidence that Alfa Romeo’s famous advertising claim of the time read: “Una vittoria al giorno, con una vettura per tutti i giorni” (“a victory a day in your everyday car”).
The same values can be found in the new limited-edition Giulia and Stelvio GT Junior models. Customers can choose between a 2.2-liter turbodiesel producing 210 horsepower or a turbocharged 2.0-liter inline-four-cylinder gasoline engine making 280 horsepower. Both vehicles are equipped with carbon fiber driveshafts, 8-speed automatic transmissions, and the Alfa Romeo Q4 all-wheel-drive (AWD) system (RWD is available on gasoline-powered Giulia models).
The GT Junior limited-editions also include an exclusive “Lipari Ochre” exterior paint color, five-hole lightweight 21-inch aluminum wheels on Stelvio (19-inch units on Giulia), and aluminum paddle shifters. Customers can opt for L2 Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems (ADAS), rear parking sensors, wireless phone charger, and an automatically operated tailgate on Stelvio.
Alfa Romeo has yet to announce pricing for the new limited-edition duo. It appears that the limited-edition models will be only available for the European market.
