Abarth Teases Its New Electric 240 Horsepower 600e Model
The Rumors Were True, 240 Horsepower AWD Model Is Coming...
Rumors have been circulating about a 240 horsepower Abarth 600e and Jeep® Avenger that are in the works, and now they’ve been officially confirmed (or at least the Abarth version) – Abarth and Stellantis Motorsport are joining forces to introduce a groundbreaking collaboration that aims to redefine battery-electric performance using meticulous engineering, racing expertise, and cutting-edge technology. The new Abarth is set the become the most powerful offering in the brand’s history.
Perfo-eCMP Platform: A Technological & Handling Marvel –
The foundation of this high-performance project lies in the innovative Perfo-eCMP platform. Crafted from a distilled blend of technologies, racing know-how, and thousands of hours of testing, the platform is based on the well-known eCMP, now reimagined and renamed for its enhanced capabilities.
To ensure optimal handling, dynamic performance, and stability, the joint engineering team meticulously tuned the suspensions and introduced a dedicated setup. The platform also features a unique limited slip differential, specifically tailored for the demands of a battery-electric vehicle (BEV) powertrain.
Advanced Braking System & Formula E-Inspired Tires –
The new Abarth doesn’t just focus on power; it’s equipped with an advanced braking system. Bigger brake discs and larger disc surfaces provide more power and stability, ensuring better heat dissipation and resistance to fading.
Drawing from Stellantis Motorsport’s experience in Formula E competitions, the Abarth is fitted with tires designed for maximum grip without compromising on range and acoustics. The softer compound tread on the exterior and center area enhances cornering grip, while a polyurethane insert ensures acoustic insulation, reducing perceived noise levels by 20%.
Racing Ergonomics and High-Comfort Seats –
Inside the Abarth, high-comfort seats with racing ergonomics offer an exceptional ride experience even during the most extreme journeys. Crafted from four different foams for optimized support and durability, the seats feature an enveloping shape to provide enhanced lateral support during bends.
Following in the footsteps of the Abarth 500e, in the teaser video provided by Abarth, we can hear that the 600e will have a Sound Generator. Developed by a dedicated sound design team in collaboration with the Stellantis Sound Design Studios, sound design, development, and integration were conducted at the Stellantis’ Italian Noise Vibration and Harshness (NVH) Department. The same entity that validated the sound of the historic Abarth exhaust system, the Record Monza.
Electrification Journey with Performance at its Core –
As Abarth continues its electrification journey, the brand remains fiercely loyal to its performance roots. This collaboration with Stellantis Motorsport marks a new benchmark in automotive innovation, where architecture, engine performance, and chassis optimization work seamlessly together to create an electrifying driving experience.
Stay tuned for more details as Abarth and Stellantis Motorsport prepare to continue to tease the new 600e Abarth.
