2026 Alfa Romeo Tonale Shows Its Sharper Side At LA Auto Show
A Refreshed Look, Better Tech, and New Personalization Push Tonale Forward
Alfa Romeo used the 2025 Los Angeles Auto Show to pull the wraps off the refreshed 2026 Tonale, giving the premium compact SUV a stronger identity, more customization, and a bolder face inspired by one of the most exclusive cars the brand has ever built. And yes—the pricing still starts under $37,000.
The big headline isn’t just the updated Tonale itself, but the presence of Alfa Romeo’s 630-horsepower 33 Stradale supercar on the show floor, making its own North American auto show debut and serving as the design muse for the Tonale’s new front end.
A Sharper, More Confident Tonale –

For 2026, Alfa Romeo didn’t reinvent the Tonale—they refined it. The front fascia gets a deeper, sculpted look with a concave scudetto grille inspired directly by the 33 Stradale, flanked by more aggressive trilobe air intakes that visually widen the SUV. Reduced front overhangs and wider tracks help the Tonale look planted, while new wheel designs—including 20-inch three-hole wheels—push its sporty character even further.
Inside, buyers can now opt for available red leather seats, expanded ambient lighting, and an updated badge design that mixes black and silver for a fresh, modern touch. The performance hardware stays solid with a turbocharged 2.0-liter GME-T4 I4 engine producing 268 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque, paired with Q4 all-wheel drive (AWD) and the most direct steering ratio in the segment.
A Bigger Color Palette & A New Limited Edition –

Alfa Romeo is adding three new exterior shades—Rosso Brera, Verde Monza, and Giallo Ocra—bringing the total to eight. A new Sport Speciale limited edition joins the lineup, slotting alongside Sprint and Veloce trims, offering unique styling and added personalization.
“With the new 2026 Tonale, we’ve added even more style, substance, and customer personalization options while maintaining a base price under $37,000,” said Chris Feuell, Head of Alfa Romeo North America. “It’s a clear reflection of Alfa Romeo’s commitment to delivering distinctive Italian design, a dynamic driving experience, and exceptional value to our customers.”
