Lancia Unleashes The Ypsilon Rally2 HF Integrale

Lancia’s Legendary Rally Spirit Roars Back For 2026

Lancia just made one of the most significant moves in modern rallying, officially pulling the covers off its brand-new Ypsilon Rally2 HF Integrale at Stellantis Motorsport headquarters in Satory, France. For a brand that built its reputation on world domination — 11 World Rally Constructors’ Championships and some of the most iconic rally cars ever made — this isn’t a nostalgia exercise. This is a full-scale return.

During the unveiling, Lancia made it clear: the brand isn’t coming back for tribute laps. It’s coming back to win. Backed by Stellantis’ global motorsport network, the Rally2 HF Integrale will compete in the WRC2 category of the 2026 FIA World Rally Championship, alongside programs in the European Rally Championship and major national series.

And yes — the HF badge and the Red Elephant are officially back.

A Return Built On Modern Engineering, Not Memories –

Lancia’s comeback starts where the sport is most competitive today: Rally2. These cars are the backbone of international rallying, offering factory-grade engineering within FIA cost-cap rules, and the new Rally2 HF Integrale is arguably one of the most sophisticated cars the category has seen.

Stellantis engineers from France, Italy, Spain, and Germany collaborated on the car in Satory — the same place responsible for world-beating Citroën and Peugeot WRC programs. Add in constant testing at Balocco, Italy, and the result is a machine designed with a single purpose: to dominate everywhere from tight tarmac cuts to fast gravel forest roads.

Rather than repurposing an existing Rally2 platform, the Rally2 HF Integrale is nearly all-new. Lancia’s goal was simple: lighter, stronger, more stable, and more drivable than anything it had fielded previously.

Racing DNA Already Touching The Road Cars –

At the event, Lancia also showcased how motorsport is already influencing production vehicles. The all-electric, 280-horsepower Ypsilon HF road car borrows technology straight from the competition program — including Alcon 355-mm brakes, a Torsen limited-slip differential, and a chassis with dramatically increased stiffness.

It’s a big statement for a brand rebuilding its identity: motorsport comes first, and the road cars follow.

A Fresh Pyramid For Young Drivers –

Lancia and Stellantis Motorsport are also building the next generation of rally talent. The HF family now includes:

  • Ypsilon HF Racing – An entry-level Rally6 training car with a 145-hp turbo triple.

  • Ypsilon Rally4 HF – The current backbone of the Trofeo Lancia, already winning in Italy.

  • Ypsilon Rally2 HF Integrale – The new WRC2 contender.

Stellantis helped push for the FIA’s new Rally6 rules, giving new drivers a clear ladder from grassroots competition to world-level racing. Lancia is officially integrated into that system starting in 2026.

The New Rally2 HF Integrale: What Makes It Special –

Lancia’s engineers focused on seven key areas, each with major upgrades:

  • Weight distribution — lower center of gravity, reduced mass

  • Aerodynamics — cleaner airflow, more downforce

  • Engine response — 1.6-liter turbo with a new anti-lag system and WEC-derived turbo architecture

  • Transmission — 5-speed SADEV sequential, optimized differentials

  • Chassis tuning — faster transitions and improved stability

  • Driver ergonomics — redesigned cockpit, improved visibility, better cooling

  • Safety — fully new bodyshell with FIA-approved roll cage

The goal isn’t just speed — it’s consistency. Rally2 championships are won on reliability as much as outright pace.

Customer deliveries will begin in early 2026 through the Stellantis Motorsport Racing Shop.

2026 Rally Campaign: The Plan –

Lancia confirmed at least eight WRC2 rounds for its first season, starting with the legendary Rallye Monte-Carlo. The program will also include ERC rounds and national championships in Italy, Spain, France, and Belgium.

The brand’s benchmark Rally4 drivers will also move upward, with the 2025 Trofeo Lancia champion joining the Lancia Corse HF Team for a full ERC effort.

In short: this isn’t a marketing exercise. It’s a real, competitive motorsport comeback.
