Ram’s New Midsize Pickup Takes Center Stage at the Argentine Polo Open
Ram officially pulled the wraps off its all-new 2027 Dakota Warlock this past weekend during the 132nd Argentine Polo Open in Palermo, Argentina. The debut marked the midsize truck’s first public showing, where it stood proudly among the Ram 1500, 2500, and Rampage — alongside displays from other Stellantis brands like Jeep®, FIAT, and Peugeot. But it was clear the spotlight belonged to Ram, as the brand showcased its complete South American lineup for the very first time.
Completing The Ram Lineup –

Ram has dominated the premium truck scene in South America, quickly becoming one of the fastest-growing premium automotive brands in the region. Until now, the only missing piece in its range was a true midsize pickup to slot between the compact Rampage and full-size Ram 1500. The new Dakota fills that gap perfectly — offering the right balance of size, performance, and capability for buyers who want something more versatile than a compact truck but not as large as a full-size rig.
Production of the Dakota began last month at Stellantis’ Córdoba Assembly Plant in Argentina, where it joins the Rampage on the assembly line. The first Warlock models are arriving at Argentine dealerships this month, with Brazilian deliveries scheduled for February and other South American markets to follow by mid-2026. Additional trims — including Big Horn, Laramie, and Laramie Night Edition — will round out the lineup in the months ahead.
Rugged Styling Meets Modern Tech –

The 2027 Ram Dakota isn’t a badge-engineered FIAT — it’s a proper Ram inside and out. Its bold front styling borrows heavily from the brand’s full-size trucks, featuring a wide “R-A-M” script grille, a sculpted hood with “RAM TURBO” badging, and full LED lighting front and rear.
The Warlock trim brings extra attitude with matte-black 17-inch diamond-cut wheels, all-terrain tires, tubular side steps, and the signature Rambar mounted behind the cab. Warlock graphics across the rear fenders and a blackout treatment give it a muscular, trail-ready look that lives up to its name.
Inside, the Dakota is modern and much more upscale than its competitors. A 12.3-inch central touchscreen sits beside a digital instrument cluster, creating a high-tech, driver-focused layout. Wireless Android Auto™ and Apple CarPlay come standard, along with wireless phone charging, multiple USB ports, and a raised center console. Premium materials, soft-touch surfaces, and available power front seats set a new standard for comfort in the midsize segment.
Power, Performance, And Capability –

Under the hood, the Dakota packs a 2.2-liter Multijet II turbodiesel four-cylinder producing 200 horsepower and 450 Nm (332 lb-ft) of torque. It’s paired with a smooth-shifting ZF 8HP50 eight-speed automatic transmission and a robust 4×4 system with low-range gearing and an electronic rear locker. Drivers can switch between 4×4 and 4×2 for maximum efficiency when needed.
This setup gives the Dakota excellent off-road performance while maintaining the refined, composed ride quality expected from a modern Ram truck. Payload capacity exceeds 1,000 kg (2,200 lbs), with a towing capability of up to 3,500 kg (7,700 lbs). The coated bed includes LED lighting and the versatile Rambar system for securing gear or mounting accessories.
Built And Engineered For South America –

The Dakota is part of Stellantis’ R$2 billion (approximately $360 million) investment in its Córdoba operations, which created 1,800 new jobs — half of them filled by women. Around 400 employees are dedicated exclusively to Dakota production.
This investment highlights Ram’s growing commitment to the South American market, where midsize pickups have become one of the hottest segments. With the Rampage already proving successful, the larger Dakota gives Ram a complete lineup from compact to heavy-duty — something no other brand in the region currently offers.
