In the muscle car world, few things spark more excitement than a true factory-built HEMI® drag car. And at Mecum Indy 2025 on Friday, May 16th, one of the rarest Mopars of them all is crossing the block: a professionally restored 1967 Dodge HEMI® Coronet W023, estimated to bring in between $115,000 and $135,000.

This particular Coronet is one of only 55 W023 Super Stock cars Dodge ever built in 1967—and even more exclusive, it’s one of just 16 cars equipped with a factory A833 4-speed manual transmission. Originally created as a factory drag package during a time when the NHRA split Super Stock into its own class, Chrysler responded with this lightweight, race-prepped Coronet specifically designed to win at the strip.
Finished in the only color these cars came in—white—this W023 retains all factory sheet metal and confidential body stamps. It has the correct Dana 60 rear end, radio and heater delete, painted steel wheels, and the low-back bench seat interior that came with this no-nonsense street-strip warrior.

Under the hood? A period-correct 7.0-liter (426 cubic-inch) HEMI® V8, complete with dual inline 4-barrel carburetors, a 26-inch radiator, chrome dome air cleaner, and no frills. These cars came stripped from the factory—no power steering, no power brakes, no insulation—just raw muscle built to win races. Even the battery was mounted in the trunk over the passenger side rear tire for better traction.
The factory lightened the Coronet by using a special hood scoop, lightweight grille, and tail panel, and inside, you won’t find much: thin carpet, no jutting or trim, and a simple AutoMeter column tachometer and Hurst T-handle shifter to get the job done.

This W023 has been restored to its former factory glory and comes with documentation like the original broadcast sheet, Certi-Card, and a Dave Wise report. With only 66,193 miles on the odometer and a legacy tied to Chrysler’s first wave of factory HEMI® Super Stock cars, this Dodge is not just rare—it’s historic.
For collectors chasing the roots of Mopar performance, this 1967 Dodge Coronet W023 4-speed is about as real and raw as it gets.
