720 Horsepower Dodge Challenger T/A Shreds Monza
Big-Block American Muscle Invades Italian Asphalt...

You don’t normally see old-school Mopars tearing up tracks like Monza in Italy, but when you do—it’s something you won’t forget. This isn’t your average 1970 Dodge Challenger T/A. No, sir. This is a straight-up beast built for battle, cranking out 720 horsepower from a massive 9.4-liter (572-cubic-inch) V8. And thankfully, the YouTube channel AlwinSV was there to catch it all.

Now before we dive into what this monster can do, let’s rewind a bit. Back in 1970, Dodge built the original Challenger T/A to compete in the SCCA Trans-Am racing series. It was a one-year-only model made to homologate the car for competition. Street versions came with a small-block 5.6-liter (340 cubic-inch) SIX PACK V8 and side-exit exhausts—pretty cool stuff at the time. But truth be told, Dodge didn’t find much success at the track. No wins that season, just a handful of podiums, and they pulled out after that year.
Fast-forward to today, and the T/A is a classic collector’s dream. But this one? It’s built for a whole different purpose.

Captured at the ACI Historic Racing Weekend at Monza, this 1970 Challenger T/A was filmed going full send in the Colmore Youngtimer Touring Car Challenge (YTCC). And unlike the original 340 SIX PACK, this T/A now packs a custom-built 572 cubic-inch big-block pushing 720 horses to the rear tires.
This thing is far from stock. It’s been converted into a full-on race car with a gutted interior, roll cage, racing seats, and modern suspension gear to keep it planted through corners. But it still keeps its vintage looks with that aggressive T/A hood, ducktail spoiler, and old-school livery. Think of it as a love letter to the golden era of muscle, just with a whole lot more bite.

AlwinSV’s video doesn’t just show the car from trackside—it includes onboard GoPro footage that really puts you in the driver’s seat. You hear every gear shift, every tire screech, and every flame pop as this Challenger fights for traction. It’s raw, violent, and absolutely beautiful.

Sure, European circuits like Monza usually see Ferraris, BMWs, and Porsches—but this 1970 Dodge Challenger showed up to remind everyone what American muscle is all about. Big displacement, brutal power, and no apologies.
