2026 Jeep® Compass First Edition Debuts In The UK With Hybrid And EV Options

New Compass Starts at £35,700 ($45,300) and Offers Up to 310 miles of All-Electric Range

Jeep® UK has officially pulled the covers off its new 2026 Compass (J4U) First Edition, revealing pricing and full details ahead of ordering opening in Q3 2025. This all-new generation of Compass is a big deal—it’s the first time this model gets a full-electric powertrain, while also bringing in a more advanced e-Hybrid option, more cabin space, and a sleeker, tougher design.

The new Compass starts at £35,700 (around $45,300 USD) for the e-Hybrid version and £39,200 (roughly $49,700 USD) for the fully electric model. Both versions come in front-wheel drive and offer premium features right out of the gate.

Powertrain Options: Hybrid Or All-Electric –

For folks looking for an efficient daily driver with a Jeep badge, the Compass e-Hybrid uses a turbocharged 1.2-liter I3 engine paired with a 21 kW electric motor. It makes 145 horsepower (hp) and delivers smooth driving in cities without needing to plug in.

The fully electric Compass, on the other hand, features a 74 kWh battery, delivering 213 hp and 345 Nm of torque (about 254 lb-ft). Jeep says it’ll do up to 310 miles (499 km) on a single charge, though that’s still going through WLTP certification. A fast charger can take the battery from 20 to 80% in just 30 minutes using a 160kW DC charger.

Looking ahead, Jeep says additional models will come later, including a plug-in hybrid (PHEV), a 230 hp 2WD EV with up to 402 miles (647 km) of range, and a 4WD electric model that’ll offer 372 miles (599 km) of range and true off-road chops.

True Jeep DNA—On And Off-Road –

The new Compass isn’t just about saving fuel. It’s still a Jeep at heart. The First Edition models come with up to 7.9 inches (200 mm) of ground clearance, approach angles of up to 20 degrees, and a water fording capability of 18.5 inches (470 mm) for the EV and 16 inches (408 mm) for the e-Hybrid.

All versions come with Jeep’s Selec-Terrain™ system, which allows you to dial in settings for snow, mud, sand, and normal conditions.

Style And Comfort Inside And Out –

Compass First Edition comes in six colors, including a standout Highliter Yellow (Hawaii) and other options like White (Antarctica), Black (Vulcano), Blue (Pacific), Green with Brown hues (Amazonia), and Gray (Yosemite). A body-colored roof is standard, but you can opt for a black roof if you prefer a two-tone look.

Standard wheels include 18-inch gloss grey alloys for the e-Hybrid and 20-inch black machined alloys on the EV.

Inside, the Compass First Edition has more space than ever—2.2 inches (55 mm) of extra rear legroom and 550 liters (19.4 cu-ft) of trunk space. There’s a 34-liter (9 gal) storage compartment up front, too.

All trims include heated seats and a steering wheel, dual-zone automatic climate control, keyless entry, and two large screens—a 10-inch gauge cluster and a 16-inch infotainment screen. Level 2 autonomous driving is also baked in.

All First Edition models are based on the premium Summit trim.
